Your welcome. I would suggest joining the inworld group. It's quite busy with easy access to people who have a lot of experience with it.

Speaking as an former moderator to the group (pain in my hands made long help sessions difficult), I completely second this.  The group is an amazing group that usually has people on willing to help out.  If for some reason, you don't get an answer right away, wait maybe an hour, maybe 1/2 an hour and ask again.

Edited to add:  Many of us, including myself, have links to a shared copy of their wardrobe so others can get ideas on how people use it.  Look me up and perv my profile picks.  It's also on the Wardrobe discord site.

  2. Not everyone can go out and spend time meeting new people.  Some are shy, some are disabled, etc.  Three of my best friends are people I met in Second life.  We all live in states far apart, 3 of us have health issues of some sort.  I trust those 3 more then some in my real life, but I've only met one in my real life.  None of these friendships have been either unhealthy or useless in any way.

  3. Okay, just be sure I'm on the right page as a seller.  If I have both single items and a fatpack, they are on completely different vendors.  I do charge an uptick for the Fatpack, but it's never as high as the single items all together, usually just about 2.5 to 3 times higher.  Not single price x amount of possible changes.  And I absolutely HATE pictures of the item from outside of SL, it seems a misrepresentation,  so taking them in SL for me, is a given.  Does that sound about right as a concerned vendor?

When I migrated from Hippo to CasperVend back in the day, I imported all the purchases that had already happened, just so none of my customers would have that nightmare. Likely many others did as well.

Not everyone did or had any plans to do that, you were a good person for it.  But I was getting lots of notices from stores advising customers to get redeliveries while they could.

    How so?

Hippovend, at the time they announcing leaving the grid, had already lost a substantial number of their customers.

I was not one of those customers as a vendor.  But rushing around to make sure we had copies of all our purchases was a pain, since redelivery from them was also disappearing.

  6. If it prevents what happened when Hippovend pulled out then I'm good with this.   That was a nightmare.  There are other systems still available, but few offer the amenities Caspervend does.  But if someone is really set against Caspervend or any other system, there is always the old way of putting out a box, pay it to give another box and eliminate all middlemen vendors.

  7. I'm sensitive to noises that might be low, but shouldn't be there.  I used to work nights alone for a bank, and I'd tell them anytime I heard something off, just to have them say no one else is noticing it or any problems.  Sure enough EVERY SINGLE TIME, the day after they tell me no one else notices, a machine broke down and hours were spent fixing it. I can live with loud noise, but little barely audible noises, drive me friggin' nuts.

How can I get informatyion like that? I've never seen any.

Unless you delete your e-mail diligently, just search Rez Day in your e-mail used for SL.  That's what I just did.  Mine would have been lots longer if it wasn't for 5 surgeries that put me in rehab 2-3 months each.  Those are usually the only times I didn't at least log in daily.

FYI 16 1/2 years total.  Started on New Years Eve 2015 into 2016.

@PatchLinden Do we have an answer about what happens to people with Grandfathered stipends?

I'd love an answer to this as well before I do anything else.  Right now my only real incentives are my current land would be tier free, and the free uploads.  Upping my grandfathered tier would be quite an incentive since it would drastically change my math.

If you have a GF premium, do not, under any circumstances, change that account.

If you need 2048. get your alt a regular annual premium and pool the land via groups.

Currently I'm siding with you, the free uploads are tempting, but not tempting enough.  I can't afford another premium ATM though, so I want to see what is finalized on record.

  11. For me right now, it's a toss up.  I pay for 2048 plus I get the 1024 free right now, so dropping the extra 1024 would put me at no land tier.  I do upload a lot of textures, sometimes 500L worth for one HUD pack.  The real sell for me would be grandfathered stipend.  I currently get 500L, but if it was raised an extra 300 like it will be for non-grandfathered, that would cross the decision over to a Yes from me.

is interesting from a technical pov what devices could be made and be compliant with the update policy as is currently wrote

it could be made like a slot machine and be compliant

a three reel machine for example and you get 1 to 3 items on the payoff line. When 1 item then 2 reels show blanks. When 2 items then 1 reel is blank. Or get lucky and is 3 items on the payoff line

then could take it to the next level. Make a 9 item display window of 3 lines. The middle payoff line, and 1 above and 1 below. The above/below OMG you nearly won mechanic

for the whales could make it so they can stick in L$3X and play all 3 lines at once

I may be missing something, but I'm not sure this would be compliant.  You still have to pay to play before you know what you'll get, don't you?

Yes. but they didn't ruin a LOT of creator income in the process

Actually entire stores shut down due to mesh alone.  It became huge and it was fast.  Many sculpty and system layer clothing makers barely lasted a month past the introduction of mesh.  No gacha creator needs to shut down, they just have to reconsider how they do business.  Gacha resellers, who depend on what others make, will likely be most affected.

  14. I watched a YouTube video once about one of the best soy sauces in the world.  Apparently, even the building a great soy sauce is made in is protected, because the fermentation process is also dependent on the materials used in building construction, the barrels and spores that accumulate over time.

  15. As someone becoming more and more mobility challenged, I see nothing that really speaks to myself and others like me, about using VR.  Most games I've seen appear to need you to be mobile.  I would personally have no real benefit from strapping something to my head and moving around my room, except for maybe another broken femur with another 3 months of rehab.  In truth, if I could move as much as I see users do now, I'd prefer a walk around the neighborhood or the real outdoors.
