  1. He may have picked a way to prove his point that you disliked, but I'm afraid TOS is on his side.

I'm afraid in this case you could be considered the 'bad neighbor.' Encroaching of prims or objects even a little bit is frowned on in TOS.

I've asked neighbors to move trees back to their side of the property line in the past, if the branches or fronds cut into what I would like to put there. Sometimes it is a judgment call, and if it's a good neighbor I can overlook some small things like that.

Might want to look at the drop down list for the Abuse Report menu. And try not to do any of those things on your or your neighbor's land. But it is up to you.

They can AR you for the sphere, though, just so you know.

ETA. If you'd like other people to add what irks them about a neighbor one small thing that irks me is when I have one or two things in the sky, and later, out of all the possible choices, someone else puts their own (usually enormous) blingy blangy object RIGHT next to mine in the sky. (Really - both have one object in the sky and they pick the same height mine is on? Sigh)

So if you were not encroaching onto their land (even at that height) I would be on your side. I try to rez my sky things where it's empty.

He still would not be against TOS though since he can technically put something every 50 (or 5) meters in the sky if his prims aren't used up yet. So I have never said anything to a neighbor who did that - and they almost all do.

  2. Well it isn't completely dedicated to tiny avatars. But my park has several things for tiny avatars to enjoy. Come explore if you want. It's in my picks.

ETA. If you have suggestions for better tiny activities there, use the mailbox by the food court.

  3. Some merchants really overdo the direct marketing.

Merchants, if the person did not specifically sign up to get updates on products, leave them alone. If it's a product they bought, of course, send updates or notices about similar products maybe. But don't spam everyone who visits your store.

And if they do sign up for ads and notices, include instructions on unsubscribing in every notice or note card. Otherwise it is just spam. Even email ads have to do this by law. Or they are considered spam. The same rules apply to phoning someone repeatedly about products. It is legal if they are an existing customer.

Although it may not be against TOS please use common sense rather than alienating your (potential) customers. I've seen shops who put in their land covenant that any visitor implicitly agrees to be spammed (of course they say it another way) simply by being there. That isn't an agreement that is coersion. Let them click to join a list - or leave them alone.

NCI is a good place to get help regardless of your viewers. Another place that had helped me tremendously when I was first a newbie is The Faery Crossings. Those faes over there has good sense of humor, at least that's how I remembered it. Just type The Faery Crossings on your search and teleport to that location. Your problem is quite easy to solve and you just need one on one guidance.

She should go for help in a Moderate or an Adult parcel if possible. If she teleports naked to a PG parcel, she could get banned from that parcel/sim, and ARed.

I think NCI is G rated. (Is it?)

  5. Thanks PeeWee and Celestiall. I will IM you soon Celestiall.

I can't access tickets or Live Chat. It was like this about a month ago too but I forgot about it. I assumed it would be cleared up. So I'm the only one? What is going on?  :smileyindifferent:

  6. Well I feel for you but at least you were able to create a ticket and try Live Chat at all.

I pay $300 USD  per month* and cannot access Live Chat nor can I complete a ticket. When I hit send, I get an error message even though I filled out and chose every drop down or typed text option. I know how to do a ticket after all. But it says "error, please choose one from this menu" and then the menu is inoperable. And that's after I had already chosen something from all menus and filled in the text boxes too.

My Live Chat page is a blank. It just says Live Chat then nothing at all.

So I'm not sure what to think either. Or what to do. Hope things get better for ya. Maybe you can get someone on the phone Monday who can help. Call during PST business hours (SL time hours) and ask for a manager. Maybe that'll work?

*that's just in tier. I also shop heavily, and more I don't want to go into here, and there seem to be 'mystery charges' the same times per month which we can't figure out nor can LL...I need to call them (again) about that sometime...Fingers crossed for each other hey? I know I'm not a land baron but my honorarium to LL each month is about half my RL bills ;) Maybe more, to be honest I'm a bit in denial and don't want to add. LOL

  7. Having an issue. People can't pick up their own boxes. I need to go into more detail but not here.

I filled in a ticket. It said error, choose one of the below. I already had but I tried again. There were no choices in the drop down at all.

So I went to the Live Chat page, which is what I needed anyway - and it's blank.

Of course tech support by phone is closed til Monday!  Is anyone else having this issue with land and can advise me please?

  8. If your antennae/red flags go up, pay attention. Slow down, back up, log off, whatever.

If someone refuses to respect a boundary you set, see above.

If someone insists that you prove yourself somehow to them, see above.

The most proficient cons will always turn the tables, put the onus on you, make you earn their trust.

Manipulative people will, at some point, insist.

Pressure and guilt (peer pressure, 'what's wrong with you' guilt) are often used.

Try setting boundaries. If the person isn't out to manipulate you, they won't care.

None of the above will apply to the truly clever ('predator' or exploitative type.)

Keep RL and SL (or anywhere online) separate - that's the surest way short of not logging online at all.

  9. Yes, child avatars ARE allowed in 'mature sims' (which are now actually labeled by Linden Lab as "moderate sims.") Simply because the land is rated mature/moderate does not mean there is anything 'adult' going on there. It does not mean nudity is allowed.

Child avatars are even technically allowed on *Adult* land according to Linden Lab rules, since the land rating *does not necessarily mean anything pornographic is happening on that parcel.*

Child avatars being in proximity of 'adult' or 'pornographic' items, behavior, etc. THAT is against Linden Lab rules.
