  1. I'm using an ethernet. No packet loss and a solid, non-fluctuating ping. -------------------- I'm wondering what I could change in my system to make it so I can run SL on max settings, have fast loading assets (or at least as fast as they could go with server limitations,) and decent FPS. Is it just that I need high VRAM (a better GPU,) fast and 16gb+ ram, and a CPU with much better single-core performance?
  2. Ya, it seems like if I want better performance in those high density areas I'll just need to get rid of avatar quality and view range. That sucks, because it's not even using all of my computer's resources like it should. Are there upgrades I can get to increase the FPS? I'm planning on getting a new computer. What kind of stats does SL like? VRAM, faster ram, faster single core CPUs? --- For anyone that's interested, this is why I'm getting low FPS. It seems like I need to upgrade my CPU for faster single-core performance. It's being bottlenecked by SL's lack of multithreading.
  3. I'll try that out. Also, I lowered my view distance and I'm getting better FPS, but something I've noticed now is that assets and character avatars de-render when I turn the perspective of my avatar/move my camera to another direction. Does anyone know why assets disappear and need to be re-rendered when they come into view? Is there a way to keep them in a cache? I thought that's what the buffer cache was for.

  5. Hi everyone. I normally run every other game on high/4k, but SL I'm getting extremely low fps (10-15 fps with GPU and CPU utilization at ~10-30%) which is extremely abnormal. Meshes and avatars also take forever to load in. My buffer cache is set to 4gb on my 8gb card's VRAM, and I have my bandwidth set to 1500 (I've tried 3000 and it's the same issue). I have 32 GB of ram, and looking at task manager while in SL, none of my components ever pass 60% utilization. Even in startup. I get the SAME fps on every graphics option from Mid to Ultra: https://ibb.co/5KfSQv7 I do however get much more FPS in empty maps, but I still do have slow loading assets. Taking 20 seconds to a minute to load in a single home and some items inside of it. Is this normal? Avatars still take a lot longer to load. I'm also using the Firestorm viewer with updated drivers.
