You can restart your own private region in the Estate menu under Debug tab.  You can delay it for 60 minutes so set it before you log out.

Thank you Rowan. I know I can set it for 120 seconds. But I was hoping there was a way to schedule a daily restart without me having to do it manually.

  2. Hi all of you fabulous scripters!

I am building a set for a dance routine. I am hoping to have the ceiling and walls of my set change color at specific times. I know there are scripts out there, that allow you to drop different textures in Contents so they change from time to time. I am looking for a script that allows me to set the times that each texture changes. Is this possible? Is there a script already out there that does this? Or, does someone have the skills to create one for me?

Any help or guidance you can give me, is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If youre passing the body on, then yes you need full perm.

If you're the dancer then it doesn't matter about being transferable. It HAS to be modify. Copy would be good.

You could use the Ruth or Roth free mesh avatars (I think Vlad Backburn "sells" them) - there's also a lot of clothing for them (i just typed Roth into Marketplace search and it came up with a lot.

You will need a texture you can drag onto the body surface - if it's mapped for skin like the classic avatar (as are Ruth and Roth), drag it onto the head, upper and lower body.

As long as the clothing is modifiable, you can do make that transparent too. Either by setting transparency or applying a texture and you may need to experiment with alpha masking a bit, to stop the alphas glitching.

I just found the Roth avatar. And yes, I would need to sell this to my male dancer once I have complete, so would need full perm.  I truly appreciate your guidance, Emma. Thank you again.

    One idea:

get a mesh rigged body - apply a partly transparent texture to it - have the male dancer wear an alpha to hide their own body and head

Hi Emma. Thank you for your response. So if I get a full perm mesh head/body, then I could make him transparent? And I could do the same with full perm clothing for him? That is a great idea. I really appreciate your help!

  5. Hi all you fabulous builders!  I am hoping someone can guide me on my quest.

I am creating a dance routine, kind of a dream like sequence where the male is maybe transparent?  I would love to have it look like the female dancer is dancing with the male memory, if that makes any sense. Is there a way to make an avatar and his clothing semi transparent so it gives off this dream like effect?

Any help you can give me would be most appreciated. Thank you!

It's quite possible, but it would be hard to make it look realistic. You can create splash droplets as particles. The problem is that a dance is an animation, a visual effect created in your viewer.  A dancer isn't actually moving, as far as the region server is concerned.  I think the best you can do is to make a transparent particle-generating prim as an attachment that the dancer wears on her feet, splashing randomly every half second or so as long as the animation is playing. It's not as good as having the splashes exactly at the dancer's feet but the effect could be convincing, especially if you have several dancers creating a mess of splashes at once.

I would be very surprised if there were something like that in Marketplace, but a scripter could create it fairly easily as a custom job.  Try posting in the InWorld Employment forum to attract one.

Thank you for your response, Rolig. A prim attached to a dancer's ankle or foot would be perfect. Now, I have a starting point ...

  7. I am working on a dance routine similar to Singing in the rain. As my dancers kick and move around the stage, I would love to have them splash through puddles, with the spray mimicking real splashing. I have looked on the MP and didn't find anything like what I want. Can this be done? If so, is it easy enough for someone like me (not a scripter or builder) to create? Or is there someone capable of building it for me? Any help or guidance is always appreciated. Thank you!

  9. I have a panel, mirror on one side, wall on the other. I am needing this to pivot on the center axis, 180 degrees and stop. So, you are looking at the wall, script turns item and you end up looking at the mirror. Gosh I hope that makes sense.

I am not a scripter. I am sure this is easy, peasy for those that are ... but I could really use some help with this. I have a continuous rotate script that can be edited, if I knew how. 😉 but it doesn't rotate dead center, it seems to travel a bit.

Any and all help will be very much appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Adori

  10. I omitted saying that you can also reach out to me here on the Forum, direct message or inworld for more information.

Please, stop by and check out L'Envie

For dancers, we are really looking for people that are mesh, preferrably Maitreya body as most clothing items come in Maitreya size. No experience necessary for dancers.  You will need to know how to save outfits, change clothes quickly, adjust your hover height and various other things that can be taught to the right people.

Our first show will be towards the end of July. We will have approximately 4 shows a month, plus rehearsals.

We are looking for outgoing, friendly people to join our crew.   We do hope you will stop by and consider joining L'Envie Burlesque.

    Thank you!

I wasn't going to reply since Rowan already gave such good advice but then I thought, does it have to be a new custom made avatar? If not, check if Grendel's Children has one. That's the first place I would have looked and I know they've made semi-transparent avis. They don't have an MP sotre so you have to go to their sim to check.

I will definitely check them out, ChinRey. It doesn't have to be a new custom avatar, just something my male dancer can wear. Thanks!

  12. Hi everyone.

I hope this is in the right forum. I am wanting to create a dance routine where the man is either a shadow or apparition. I am hoping there is an easy way of creating skin and outfit to create this effect. If anyone has any helpful hints or can point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

    Thank you!

Select the building with your editor and then open the Features tab. Check to see that the Physics Shape Type is set to PRIM.

I am trying this now. It seems a lot of the pieces are not PRIM. I am getting some movement .... so hopefully once I go through and change everything it may be fixed.  Thank you for your help, Rolig.
