  1. Congratulations @GuliaMCRfor your enthusiasm. But I have to warn you that Second life is addictive.😜

I answered your questions but I have to note that you can buy not only using real money, you can work in sl and earn money. I'm not sure there is another platform that have that kind of economy.

About the Zuck's metaverse - I think that idea of buying rl staff is not the only thing. Famous brands offering virtual goods is also a thing.

I'm sorry that my english is not good enough. I hope you got my point.

  2. Legacy is a great body.I'm editing my post because I just saw it's an old thread. So all I wanted to say is I'm very happy with it and don't regret buying it.

No not at all, infact I will very often not like the sale item but like the creator & quality so end up just buying their stuff because the sale took me to their store that I otherwise wouldnt have found, sometimes I feel like the sale item is worth too muchto be on sale & buy something extra, like 187's phone cases I always buy the sale item & buy atleast one extra at full price because its $280L which ammounts to about £1.50 in RL money & you cant even buy a coffee for that theses days, not that I like coffee anyway but I digress.

Another reason is that most things in SL baring a mesh head & mesh body cost litteral pennys & the creator probably put in hours to create that thing & even mesh heads from Lelutka at $4000L converted to RL money isnt even £/$20 & thats alot of work for that money & I dont begrudge them that.

Another reason is that apart from big creators like the afore mentioned Lelutka who are obviously a team of people, most creators are just regular folk looking to make a few extra £/$ to feed themselves & their family & I cant begrudge them £1.50 for something that probably took them hours to make.

In my 12 years in SL across 2 main avatars Ive probably spent £10k(uk) & my only regret is that I cant do it all over again now mesh has become a thing.

I also play video games such as Warframe but I dont ever buy their premium currency because I know my money is just going to a faceless corporation.

People need to get out of this mindset that Secondlife purchases are expensive because theyre really not when you consider the time spent to create some of these things.

Ive had multiple creators message me before now & give me personel discount cards because Ive brought so much of their stuff or just to say thank you & my reply is always the same," Youre welcome & thank you for creating things for us"

May be you should consider that for some people 20$ are 40 in their country and the salary there is around 1000. So fir some people it is expensive. And yes, some creators work hard, no doubt for that. But there might be other point of view.

  4. Recently I follow what's in Seraphim and I buy cheap things. I was patient and finally got this Legacy body on half price. It was hard to say goodbye to Maitreya but I need this change.

I used to shop on events shiny new clothes and stuff but then see them the next week for 60L and decided that it's not worth to pay 299 each.

  5. I don't see Maitreya changing the body that much. But they could make some deformers. For the shoulders that everyone complain about there are very nice deformers, I use Eridita. And I'm happy with it. The reason I want to switch Maitreya is that I don't like the breast shape also the pelvis area. The legs is another thing I don't like much when playing with sliders. I really like Legacy, it's gonna be easier to switch to it.

  6. I was excited for the new Belleza body because i'm still wondering to buy or not Legacy. I did comparison with my Maitreya and there are some nice things about this body but also some imperfections for that prize...well still makes me think that I should choose Legacy. Actually the only reason I didn't take Legacy is the complexity. Belleza will be well supported, I'm sure but is it good enough?

On the pics I'm wearing my shape for Maitreya and skin from Glam Affair.

Added Legacy, so this is the result.

  7. I was considering buying Legacy perky, because I like the softness of the shape. But after you mention the deformers for Maitreya, surely I'll check them on. I use deformer for the arms, also bought physics. But I totally forgot to check out for other deformers. I really like my Maitreya, I spend too much to drop it. I was thinking how much I will spend on a new body. More than 10000, may be 20000 to get everything I have for Maitreya. So thank you all for reminding me to check on deformers.

I see lots of bloggers using Legacy and Reborn. And the last sales got me surprised - I bought 2 outfits without demo them and they had no Maitreya sizes. Which was a total disappointment. I was absolutely sure they have the size because I bought from them. Anyways, no matter what, Maitreya will be around long enough and there's no need to worry.

And, it's a shame in some ways, Maddy.  I know people who live on their phone and listen to music on those horrible phone speakers and it sounds terrible; I wonder sometimes if the younger generation as ever heard music and I mean sound-wise.  The newest "gadget" that I know of is someone is coming out with a blockchain phone set to be released about the beginning of 2023, last I heard.  I don't know if it's going to be a hit or a flop.  I would not want it.  I'd love to have a Smart TV but I know nothing of Smart TV's or if a Smart TV could run SL or not.  If it could, that I would love.  SL on a big TV screen.  VR I'm not a fan of having something on my head.

Actually, you can use your TV with hdmi connected to your pc. I run my pc with my tv using it for monitor because I mostly watch movies on my pc.

one of the problems is, older cards DO really work, just don't ask here on the forum, or really everything that is older than 3 months gets nuked as rubbisch gear.
People Cán play with a 640m or 960m or any other nvidia.
Yes it's a bit limiting in settings. But it IS possible.
The same with GB memory .. yes 4 isn't to much, 8 is better, but móre is nót needed, just convenient.
Don't trash your dollars to fast in upgrading to a higher end gaming machine.

I don't know about graphic cards, sure older won't load fast but I'll share something. My pc is 5 years old, it has Intel build in video card. I used hdd 1T. But the last year it loaded the game really slow. I asked few people about that and all I had to do is to buy a SSD and install Windows and Second life on it. And the problem is solved. I will buy other stuff for my pc of course. But this only one thing really changed my SL experience. I share it because some people may not know it.

It was long ago when I first logged in but I remember that I couldn't move. When I think about it now it's like - what was that difficulty, I don't get it now. And the second impression was what should I do now? Where do I have to go? I'm sure that question is still a thing for the newcommers. Now I realize that Second life gives us the freedom that no other game can offer. That's why I love it. I tried The Sims once and I didn't like it. I hate that constantly "go there, do this" . And I'm sure after we get those mesh starter avis the new users will like it and also they might be accepted from others. Because most of the users don't like noobs. They avoid them.
