to me it is but hey for example Talitha she prefers less clothes, I prefer a bit more - others vary somewhere in between - it´s the mix that makes it interesting
Where did the saying "less is more" come from? ...

ohhh 501st...
I´m about to kill someone or something... there´s been a party... like ... this morning,,, SL nighttime... and whatever outfit I tried to style turned out too sexy, skimpy, revealing, *****ty.... ARGH..
I DO NOT LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!! fkssake!
oh and now FS crashed.....
My attempts:
wanted: oldschool gangster, a bit of punk added, ... got - cheap
Next:
wanted spacey, 80s, cyber, gymnastic, sporty look...- well... close enough for my budget, still kind of a fun look, but...:
MEH!!!!!
So I tried a more classical route:
they didn´t match as well as the store pics suggested... unalphaed..
alphaed... so this is for system body only... worth a try...
liked the shirt though so I went here:
looks so cool,right? BUT:
NO! NO BACKLESS TODAY... DAMNIT!!!!!!!
SO I retorted to another shirt which is actually a jacket but yeah.... see the current outfit here: LOTD Post
The party is over now... of course...
TOO sexy/revealing is a thing?????? NEVER!!!!!!!

One doesn't actually 'own' land in SL - not really. LL owns it all. I 'own' the land in theory only - and pay LL a monthly tier of $5.00USD. For that price, I can do whatever I want with and on the land - there are no covenants to dictate how I use my land the way there are with private rentals.
However, even including monthly membership of $9.50 USD, it still works out far more economical than renting from a private Real Estate agency, so for me, it's worth it.
There are plenty of good arguments for renting from a private company, but for me - at least for now - this is what works
Can you buy land if you aren't a premium member? If so $5/month sounds a no brainer. But $14.50/month is a lot more.

So this is me today ...

And that price you paid. Do you own it outright now or have to pay a monthly rent or fees too? Buying outright seems a good way if you can get the right thing for the right money.

Ok so i understand that bit but what i meant was WHERE you live and what that bit/size of space etc costs. You said you had 360 degree views of the sea. Sounded perfect. Just the kind of place I'm after. Was just intruiged to see it if possible. Understand if not.

I don't get it? Derender + Blacklist = whole entire sim and 360 degree, unobstructed ocean views to myself. There's nothing more enjoyable than derendering every little piece of junk that neighbours in their fancy, view-blocking mansions have on display - and their little dogs, too *cackle*
Would love to chat sometime about this and maybe see your place. Sounds like the kind of thing I am looking for. What sort of costs are involved?

Both. Check out Carson's posts on https://fabfree.wordpress.com/ for some decent freebies on those items. Also check Skell's blog for some places to get decent freebies. I've managed to get some decent stuff for my male alt, though off the top of my head I'm drawing a blank - probably because I seldom log him in.
Oh i have a short list of great stuff I've found lol. I just havent decided which to go for! L&B? Coldash? Deadwool? Legal Insanity? ::GB::? MSN Design? Ascend? N-Uno? (See Skell was right. We have no stuff for us!)

Text-only post incoming. I posted this in the 'Just Ignore' thread, but it also kinda belongs here, since it's about creating avatar looks, so...
It's often stated that SL is a woman's world when it comes to shopping, and - as a man who loves fashion - I've always agreed with that. It's also sometimes (well, actually, often) said that most men can't be bothered to do much with their avatar once they've got a couple of decent looks together. More often than not, though, that's because it's so bloody difficult to find a wide variety of stuff that isn't just jeans, t-shirts, hoodies, sneakers, etc. Women who take the time to tour current events with a male perspective in mind may already have noticed this, but I've just been looking through the Seraphim gallery for the Black Fair, which has just started. It might open some eyes to see the stats:
- 140 stores
- Male-only items - 3 (one beard, one skin, one set of m/m poses)
- Unisex tattoos that show at least one man on the ad (and are therefore compatible with male mesh bodies) - 4
- Other unisex items - 2 (mesh ears, glasses)
- Unisex nail appliers (eg: not Maitreya-only) - 3
- Unisex poses (eg: one male, one female in a couples pose) - 2
That's it. The guys get precisely the following:
- 1 skin
- 1 beard
- 1 set of gay poses, plus 2 m/f couple poses
- 4 tattoos
- 1 pair of ears
- 1 pair of glasses (there are two other pairs, but both are very femme 'cat-eye' styles)
- 3 sets of nail appliers (if that's their thing)
Oh, and of course, all of the home decor options.
It's bloody hard work putting together a stylish male avatar when that's the typical offering (and it IS the typical offering) at events.
ETA: Yes, we do now have male-only events (four of them, plus one yearly event) but if you've been going to those for as many years as I have, you'll see that the items on offer tend toward an average of 75% jeans, t-shirts, hoodies, sneakers, etc, 5% home decor, 10% accessories, and 10% 'fashion' clothing. Even some of the more 'fashion' designers that frequent these events have started moving toward hoodies and sneakers lately.
Skel in my short time here this is something i have noticed too. All the offers and messages i get are for female stuff. Hats off to you for the variety of stuff you create based on what we have to work with!

That is one benefit for living over there. I get to visit the wonderful towns of Lubbock or Notrees ... LOL
The oldest commercial building in town turned 75 last year. Now that's HISTORY! -- it's a museum now, of course. Nothing that old could still be of use.
I have a pal who owns a diner in Lubbock.

Do You Prefer Living On Mainland or a Private/Homestead Sim

So am I right then in thinking ...
Anya is a Premium member so could (buy/rent) the land for L$1800? Is that a one of payment or L$1800/month? (hence my buy/rent question)
You then have (as Kasha points out above) your membership cost however you do it monthly, quarterly, yearly etc (if you go premium you get a home though anyway?)
$5/month land tier (is this the buy/rent bit you mean?) So the L$1800 is the one-off payment and then the land is yours forever as long as you pay the $5 every month.
1024m2 is that a standard size? What sort of size thing can you put on that?
Mainland any old person can walk through or turn up or do you have security/privacy of some sort?
I'm not sure a home is really that necessary and I'm sure there are people who never have a home but i would think some sort of bolt hole and place to just hang out in your own space would be a sanctuary. One of the things I loved most about IMVU was doing my rooms so a space of my own to do up is really appealing. Just trying to work out the best and most cost effective way to do it for what i want/need.
