Except for FS settings having to be redone, what's the downside of a clean install vs. moving folders and power cycling your modem? I mean you're doing a bunch of steps to avoid.. doing a bunch of steps..

Rebooting the modem? Speaking of last resort things to do. I would check the software before I check the connection. Especially if SL viewer shows normal inventory. So clean install before resetting modem and connection.

Edit: I forgot to say MODA, with 4 lucky chair for non-VIPs, got some nice shoes there. And a pretty big wall for VIPs - kind of expensive to join (350 or 500, I guess, I'll check later), but you get a gift card and very good items as gifts.

When you want to buy items from MODA, and never have been in their group before, join their group instead. The group costs 500, like all of their items, but the gifts on the wall also include L$1500 in giftcards, so for the price of 1 item, you can now buy 3 items. If you do this when there is a 50% off sale (which I did) you'll get 6 items out of the giftcards!

"Sims 2" had working mirrors more than 12 years ago.

And working mirrors in Sims 2 also lagged your system as hell if your system wasn't on par.

One of the expansion packs added "ballet school" full height wall mirrors, so you could build an entire wall covered in reflective glass. Custom content makers added mirrored floor and ceiling tiles too.

And the more mirrors you added, the more lag was caused.

Or ray-tracing hardware. The NVidia GeForce 2080 has ray-tracing hardware. Costs over $1000. Nothing supports this yet.

Sims 2 Mirrors ran on standard nvidia cards that cost $60-$100, 12 years ago...

Not relevant. Sims 2 didn't use ray tracing.

  4. Make sure you clear both the upper and lower hairbase layer. If you still see (parts of) a hairbase, proceed to remove make up layers as well, but for those it's best to lower opacity first to see what is affected if you would wipe them.

  5. Your picture shows shadows in the face which indicate strong directional light.

Are you wearing a facelight or bodylight? If so try taking of that light, and setting windlight to CalWL, or Nam's Optimal Skin and Prim, see if that helps. I find with those two windlight settings I never need a facelight, even with a dark skin.

Funnily enough, this entire topic reminds me of our National Fruitcake in the Netherlands:

    https://www.thisisinsider.com/dutch-man-emile-ratelband-wants-to-legally-change-his-age-to-49-2018-11

Our National Fruitcake got his ruling today. He is not allowed to lower his age because, unlike sex or name, rights and duties are tied to a person's age. I guess the same could be said for SL age, as quite a few places handle a 30 day age-limit for entry, or jobs require a certain avatar age before they will accept you.
