[Moderate sim ratings.....I JUST DON"T GET IT!!!]

I understand. I worked as a dancer with a younger  girl.   When she said it was  her birthday how  old  would be.  She said 17.  I almost had a heart attack.  

Don't know how she got there, but I knew she was having sex in the club. I had to report the club.   Yes she lied about her age to get it.  But when it was  discovered and reported.  LL didn't do  anything.

A group of us did the only thing we could think of..baby sit.  

The owner of the club should have been at least notified and handled by SL.  No matter, wasnt our responsibility it was LL.

Why the TOS as per above ignored?

I have been harassed by one person for almost 3 years. Most say block him and he will go away.   Nope.  40 alts opened and closed, harrassing friends, paying people to either contact me, posting false statements in groups  (he posted that my partner died and it was such a shame I cheated on him the whole time. That was just one  ).  He has posed as a woman to seduce my partner then sent me part of the chat.  Let's just say he was very ill.  But thats not all.  If I block or ban him it gets worse.  He gets chat logs of my personal information and most were altered.  Recently he managed to get one woman I never really met so upset at me, she sent a defaming notecard of a conversation we had to 30 or more in SL to ruin my reputation and worse disclosing personal medical information she got from him.  She had someone ( pretty sure timing was not a happenstance) send a virus to my computer which bounced back through the modem on the BOT NET virus. The virus it sent was the COM Surrogate.  You Plug any computer to the net poof its got it,  8 computers were killed.  One had the OS gone.  Get ESET it blocks this).  She had the sim greifed so well sim owners couldnt stop or control the greifing. however the hacker also stopped scripts.  I have a Childrens Zoo with 20 different breedables on Auto Feed.  Lots starved or I had to pay a ton of Lindens to get meds, I will say allot of the big creators when they heard donated medicine, animals, and Lindens, thank you so much.

But wait that's not all.  Same person threatened in writing that she would send her brother after me as she said "3 minutes with him and she will be in a padded cell".  She said this as I do have a managed disorder that he gave her.  

All of the information was given to Linden Labs for over a year.  The stuff with this woman just happened this last few months  ( on my  birthday thanks ).  Then he gets another woman (I was giving her stock that I had too much  of or didnt need) she asked to be friends on Facebook said sure.   ( the animals I gave her at no cost all were pure   limited additon siblings rated rare or very rare ) Huge mistake.  My security is set  on FB to just me and or freinds.  She got my personal information  from my page and passed it to the other 2.  Suddenly I get an  IM from a good friend.  He told me his Mother just got a disturbing text from me.  I didnt send it. They sent it to her.  

Next thing. 10 accounts in my name pop up.  

I have been trying to get support at both sites to do something.  All I get from LL is the canned response.   Then they close the ticket out.  10 tickets later. 91 screenshots saved on GYZO and they still won't respond.  I have tried  everything, there are charges being filed on these three, 5,000 or so in monetary damages so far. ( 8 computers were infected before we caught on.  We are computer geeks without  a life ) Happened to a rented computer.  1 laptop was less than 2 years old, 2 were less than 6 months old gaming machines.  I can run ultra np.

Is it me but it appears that the TOS was made because they had a blank page to fill?   There are violations all over this with supporting documentation for 2 years, people that are coming forward to verbally confirm the IMs he sent them.  I was sent copies that were part of the 91 images.  91 posts and still "Im sorry you had this experience.  But ...and ticket closed.  

Sorry to be so long winded but I needed to make it clear this isnt a simple cranky smurf that was saying perverted things.  

Any ideas on how to get LL to take ownership and ban these three?( Im working in RL very hard  to make sure they arent allowed to do this to anyone again) No way in hell they will force me to splaying.  I just want  LL back the TOS and not condone criminal  actions.    There are too many people in SL having serious abuse problems. Im ready to go on the 5pm news if it will help.  

What can I do to make LL pay attention?   Im now hearing stories he has been doing this stuff to women since he started, 10 years ago.  Not kidding there are 8 year old alts popping up. (Too bad he has at least three tells in all of them, even  the women.  Yes women alts he has used 3 so far)

Do I have to get on a plane and shove someones nose in this?

[Abuse and harassment in SL and the role of Linden Lab]

You all might want to google law suits against LL, in which they have settled in one court case for 43MM dollars.  Just because you are in a virtural world doesnt exempt LL's legal responsibility to assist in enforcing Federal Laws and Civil law.  Now many states include social media as being held just as resposibile for the behavior of the people using thier service. 

New laws such as "revenge porn" whether you gave someone photos of yourself , they can not be passed to anyone...if the the threat is involving the release to another SL person, in world..and LL was aware of it.  They get slapped too.  Cyber stalking and harassment is now also upgraded. 

One judge in one suit ". However, the District Court did decide on two issues which may be important in future virtual world litigation: that the ’s manatory abirtration provision was unenforceable; and that interaction with a person in a virtual world can satisfy a state’s "minimum" requirement for personal action"

Linden Labs shouldnt use a TOS as a matter of convenience.  If its a legal disclosure then they are legally responsible to up hold it. 

Get every bit of documentation you can, chat logs, screen shots, send reports, fax legal at LL.  If you cant afford a lawyer I recommend Legal Shield pre-paid legal service   They cant  do too much but they can write letters to LL asking them to stop someone.

If you have the name, address and personal information of the person harassing you regardless if they are in the same state as you are file a police report for Cyberharassment.  Then give that information  to your lawyer and they will relay it to LL.  You want to really get stinky if you cant find the harasser in a general backgound check you can file an order to LL to provide you with the personal contact information of the offender.    Then next is to get the person or persons served to appear in court for a restraining order which will include any cyber contact. 

Each law is different but if you are been defamed, harassed, had pictures or any personal information sent out, the offender may face not only jail time/costs of the lawyers, but they pay all costs to the courts.   But it gets better.  You can then file a Civil Suit and ask for punitive damages.  Civil suits are easier to prove as you dont need as much documentation.

Just because they are a large company gives them no expemption from the law.  Check your state laws.  Oh and you file in your state (and I love this part) jueisdiction is in your state, if your offender is in another state, they have to appear in your state's court. 

Yes I have been there and done this...and won.

Just because they treat you as a small fry doesnt mean you have think of yourself as one.  They put thier pants on one leg at a time...and besides what are they going to do? Take away your birthday?

 

 

 

[Is it possible for SL to glitch and set an already sold]

for sale? My neighbor and my exs new gf, who has been less than nice to me since she moved next door. She complained my prim fish were on her parcel. Sure ok return but she was nasty. Today I got a odd error. Now I went overboard to make sure nothing hit her land and saw she had put it up for sale. I needed more prims sI bought it. Suddenly she is saying it was an accident and she had no idea how to do it. To check a box maybe...but set a price to be paid to her. Anyway can SL glitch like that?

Yes she is very jealous, a liar and a poor one at that.  I'm paritally to fault for this all though...she stuck the hook out there...and I took that bait.  Lesson learned.

Thank you I am looking into moving but I have 4 weeks on this property so I am not leaving yet. But I will. Ive never had an issue with a neighbor before I wasn't able to work out on a one on one basis, and this one's g/f has to call her Daddy? What really sucks...I've been renting from them forever and never had an issue before. Heck last neighbor I chatted with, we had cross over prims (turns out two palms), we got it all worked out...and he gave me four horses and asked me out. Go figure

I've been renting from a friend for sometime.  His now time g/f has taken a dislike to me and was nasty in our first contact saying something of mine was on her property.  It had to be a glitch in SL because no way could have gotten there.  But she returned it killing the animal.  After her telling me I was being snippy, (please, thank you and I apprecaite your help) are apparently now considered snippy. 

But trying to be a good neighbor I moved from her side of the parcel my objects 5m from the lines and an additional 5M from the item I was rezzing from the fence to her property.    Today I went to finish a project and I kept getting object error messages.  Last thing I wanted was another fight with her or my friend so I looked at the messages and cammed over to their property and did an area search.

The odd thing was the property was now set for sale by her.  I hadnt seen them for a while so I assumed (and maybe not a good idea) they were moving and set it for sale pending the move.   So I bought it.  I didnt return anything.  I sent her a message that I got the place for the extra prims.  She said it was a mistake and didnt know how she set her land for sale? I could have sold it back but I got yelled at by the b/f to talk to him. So I said no ...and she starts again with the insults.  This coming from someoen in 8 years?.... Anyway.... He gets on and steals the property using his estate powers to take it (I had paid 4 weeks in advance) and demands to know what I will give him to get the property back. 

It keeps going for a bit..then he threatens to hack my computer (I reported him).  But in all of this is he says he doesnt have to because of the covenant.  I took screen shots of the covenants on that sim but one.   None say no refunds.

Am I write that he can not take my land because his silly g/f set the land for sale, (the fact she was rude aside), and not the parcel I bought..but the whole thing..then starts to return objects that can be damaged demanding what will I give him.

I have no idea what to do.

block one another pops up.  I ban and block.  Yet another shows up.  I tell him to leave me alone, file multiple reports to LL and then threaten to file a restraining order on him but he still comes back.  He has sat on neighboring parcels and IM's people to get them to contact me and have him unblocked by saying he has "an important question to ask me".  He has threatened me to get me to talk to him.  Here is a NC he sent me.  I wont name names but this is what I am facing:

all i wanted was to talk and ask you a few questions and you have to make a big productions ot of it and start accusing me of stuff again, this is like an act of war and you have started it this time. You gave untru information to a stranger and you had no right to give lies and BS. if you want to play this out this way ok i will not let you get away with it. the only solution is to talk to me NOW and make Peace.
i also have a list to send ot and it will hurt you more then me
so please dont push me into that

And he followed through by IM'in g people sending them a list of supposed alts I have.  These were people in my business group he im'd. Now they have left.   Last time he sent naked pictures of my avi out to people he thought would cause enough drama for me to get me to unblock him. (He derendered my mesh clothes and alpha, then took the pictures.)   Then if I do he gets on voice and starts yelling if I dont do what he says.  Last time he screamed at me so loudly that he was all redlines. When he called me a **bleep** I muted him again.  I have filed so many reports on him its not funny.  He has about 30 plus alts.  He created 5 in one day because I kept muting him.

When I probed enough to find out why he wont just leave me alone and move on he confessed it was because he wanted me.  I know he is unhinged but I am not going to let him drive me out.  I have had to leave one account because of him and spent a ton of money on this one.  I am not leaving it.  What he is doing is clearly a violation of the TOS.    He even created a woman account to trap my b/f saying he was cheating.  So I would leave him.  If he was and I did leave, I sure as hell wouldnt run to him.

 

Any ideas on how I stop this?

 

** Thank you everyone for the input.  I have blocked him again.  There are security devices all over my parcel and sims that send me a notification in local when anyone lands.  If any name looks like it might be his I pull up the profile.  He leaves specific tells in each of the avatars that he is using and I block, ban and if in my group eject and ban.  I did try the charging once and it did weed out a few but since I have lots of my ads in the Frebie Galaxy etc most new people dont have the L's to pay so that wasnt fesiable.  Its menatlly exhausting to have to run to everyplace ( I have 5 sims and my group) but in the long run it will pay off. I hope does get tired.  I doubt it though after a year and 1/2 but I'm not going to let thim run my SL.  Anyway thank you again for your input.. It helped me reaffirn what I knew in my head what I needed to do.  - P
