Hello all, I hope this is the correct forum for this, and I hope you all are well in both worlds. Problem: Within the last few months, I have noticed that at least once a week, I will be at a moderately crowded dance club and I cannot see one avatar out of all the avatars. As I type this, I am standing at a crowded dance club sim and I cannot see one avatar out of the entire sim. Granted, some of the other avatars are only partially rendered but at least I can see evidence of their avatar. This particular avatar is totally invisible, except for her name. This also happened last night to me, at a moderately crowded dance club sim. One avatar was totally invisible, except for her name. I have opened a hole in my firewall for only SL traffic. My operating system is fully patched. To my knowledge, I am not running any software that would block traffic. I am not running Windows Defender firewall at all, I have disabled it because I have a decent consumer router. I am not running any antivirus software except for Windows Defender. What really perplexes me is a friend will tell me she can see the avatar in question, but I cannot. Help ! I know this is a "trivial problem" but I do like to see all avatars. Some valid concerns have been raised here. As far as exposure to the world population, that's a persistent problem for LL Marketing. As far as privacy goes, I'm truly not concerned so far. If my privacy gets violated, I'll be one of the first to come here and complain and go to LL. I've had fun posting my own silly pics so far, for other residents. So far a good experience. Just my 2 cents from a long time user with little tech knowledge: I do not mind adjusting things at all. It's like your car or truck. When you buy it, can you just get in and do nothing except turn the key and fill it with petrol/gasoline ? Sure. Will you be as happy with it as you would be if you took a few minutes to learn about it (and maybe read the manual) ? Probably not. It's the same concept. Sadly, sometimes you need to get a "better" car or truck to do what you need to do. Usually not. Fixing it yourself (or by a friend or family member) or going to the dealer ($$$) is required at times. Let's all approach Firestorm in the same spirit. If you want to use an older version, cool. If you are happy with the latest FS, also cool. If you need help, be open to suggestions, please. Ok, I'm done. Have a wonderful day, everyone 😀

Hello all, I have not seen my issue posted anywhere so far, so here goes. Step One: Totally clean install of latest FS, as indicated in the subject line Step Two: Do my configurations as usual, including UN-checking Mirrors, whitelisting the recommended files and folders for my AV, and setting percentage of VRAM to 12 gigs (my card has 24 total) Step Three: Login, and begin teleporting to usual sims. I take care to choose sims with low lag Step Four: I wait a few seconds (in old FS, happened instantly), notice my avatar is mostly or totally invisible, and I rebake under the Advanced menu. Step Five: Problem is cured, for now. Wow, I have learned tons in this thread, thank you Orwar and everyone else. Out of total sheer frustration, I went back to Lelutka and got a fresh copy of my Lelutka head and hud. I did not alter ANY of the settings or tints etc. I went back to Test Female. Long story short, I *think* getting a fresh uncorrupted copy of my head and hud has done the trick. I wasn't going to add anything else, but I can understand the curiosity. I will simply tell you what I did: 1- I am a Premium member, so I contacted Linden Lab support, gave her this thread, and asked for help 2- the LL CSR went into my account, looked at everything, adjusted my Maitreya Lara X hud skin preset to this So, as a non-expert on the topic of skins, all I can say is, it's been fixed. As far as I know, there is nothing wrong with my account, my shapes, etc. I have double checked the tinting on my head and body skin, and they are both set to white. I do not know what to say. I went to Lelutka, got a redelivery on the Lelutka hud for my head. It is set to defaults. I got a redelivery on my head and body skins, all set to default. Same problem. I have examined the head and body skin for tinting. It is set to white. I think it's up to LL or Velour. I have bent over backwards here to make this work, and I may contact LL for them to see if it is my account or my avatar, etc. Please, everyone, do not waste any more of your precious time on this. Now, the closeup photo of my neck, with NO neck blend added and no neck fix applied in Maitreya hud. I have absolutely no idea how to micro-adjust my neck, besides the small adjustments in the Neck section of the Maitreya hud.

Ok, I reset my avatar back to "Test Female" (under FS developer menu). I have NO hair for this photo and an official Lelutka facelight attached to my neck. My lighting is CalWL. If there is a better lighting, please let me know. So, afaik, shadows should be eliminated. All shadows are off in my FS viewer. Only one set of eyebrows is added (eyebrow icon, Velour Myss eyebrow). Body skin was added first, then the facial skin. Body and facial skin match exactly, of course. No neck blend is added. First, the overall photo with the bald head (eeks):

1- I am using CalWL for my lighting. Shadows are off now. 2- Neck fix is now off. 3- I am using a BOM skin, yes, not an applier skin from my body's hud. 4- I have absolutely no clue on how to adjust materials settings. Here is a NEW photo, as of a few minutes ago, with all modifications above:

Hello all, Before I get started, I want to be very clear that I am NOT bashing Velour. This issue could very well be my responsibility. I did talk to a CSR there. She asked that I put everything to defaults, which I did. I reset my skeleton, to make sure that was not an issue. Again, I am not trying to be mean to her. She did her job competently. Here is a photo of that avatar with the face skin What am I doing wrong ? The face skin works perfectly with Maitreya Lara 5.3. Thank you for any feedback or help you can give me. Hi all, This is the outfit and long socks I am having trouble with: Gyazo pic of Aimie outfit at Luna Chelsea store (Chelsea Station 83, 57, 23) Sorry, I cannot find a MP post for it. Again, this is a Maitreya LaraX outfit and I am wearing the LaraX avi. I have tried a few stores already. The socks always poke through the shoes or boots. Ok I might have found an answer to this !!!! Go to the Account page on secondlife.com after logging in. Click "Change Email Settings". On that page, you will see that you must verify your email address in order to receive OFFLINE IM's.... Mystery solved, I think ?!

hi all *waves all friendly like* , At this point, two of my friends (one in the UK, the other in Singapore) cannot receive my offline instant messages. I am in the United States. Why is this happening ? Is it their ISP ? I know LL used to have an office in the UK. It is a pain to have to send notecards to my friends, when a simple offline IM would suffice. I frequently send my SL wife offline IMs. For months there were no problems. Recently she reports, two times, that she never received an offline IM. She says she is not experiencing capped IMs. Is anyone else having this problem ? Is it her account ? I see that I sent them. Thank you for any help. Steph
