I'm getting the same issue. Win_Crash_logger also starts up at VFS as well. So I do have my Crash Logs ready to send to verify with whoever need be to see what the problem is/may be. Other than that, I'll go through the regular channels. On another note, does it always pop up with 'You should be using the current service pack...' window after every update? I'm updated to the latest service pack so shouldn't be an issue. EDIT: Did a bit of digging in the forums and found a fix that allowed me to get into SL. With a bit of an awkwardness I loaded it up and got something about the graphics card changing to... the same graphics card so... I was a bit confused but at least it's solved for now. Wonder what that was all about.
