[OSX El Capitan - Space Navigator Issue]

Well.. I'm getting 'close' with having my Space Navigator tuned for SL. Still tweaking finer points, BUT installation and drivers were quite aggravating. I do have Windoze10, had it for awhile, but just swapped motherboards too. The SN driver I have now is the Win10 versions (new) from 3dconnextion's site.

Overall... the problems I found was when installing (multiple times) was that new drivers attempt to install for EVERY 3d design program out there. I stopped that with using 'Custom' install and off-checked all options for EVERYTHING it seemed.

The one other problem I had was interference from a Logitech flightstick that I also use on the system. Seems that SL/FS will 'pickup' the FIRST controller is finds on a USB port. It was 'catching' my flightstick first... total aggravation (because I attempted to use it for SL before buying the SN... and it didn't work then.)

BUT then *Last Straw LUCKY lightning strike*... which was moving the SN to a rear USB and keeping flightstick on front USB.. SL will pickup the SN like is suppose to do. A much easier solution than attempting to tune USB ports in Bios!

Settings appear to be simular to those recommended as in other posts in Wiki, As for my physical placement.. I've found SN rests nicely just in front of the keyboard arrow keys. With it sitting there, when my finger tips are on arrow keys, the ball of hand is resting lightly on the SN... giving my quick 'action' to whichever movements I want by avi. Flycam is nice, although I wanted SN primarily for movements.

Am looking forward to attempting some builds with SN, it appears it is going to work out now.... after nearly POUNDING it through my wooden desktop!!

[Back after years of hiatus]

Starting with latest viewer is a good point to begin!

SL's viewer is only one compatible with Marketplace Merchant functions.…. At moment,   but I have not heard absolute latest news about it.

[Mesh Bodies - Creating Clothing Layers]

Look for BLENDER.. used for 'objects' where textures are added in-world.

Textures are 'artwork' and done with photo editing programs  GIMP is one.

Both are 'opensource' and free to download, additionally being very powerful (read: complicated) to learn/use. They are also used for ALOT of other 'platforms' .. not just for virtual world 'creations'.

As for in-world info.. see Builder's Brewery for info/classes.

I seen some 'rent to own' property near Second Life International Airport (with waterways).

Am starting to checkout simular property, as well, tho find most being rather expensive.

Just find the 'chat' sims/sites.... and KEEP greeting EVERYONE you'd think you'd like. Many go 'no where' because of space/time... some grow, alot just have no response (are AFK or sompthin!).

Seems, as in RL, the girls do not strike a conversation. Us guys have to be first to say Hello!

Most likely, you are not getting to the right places... check Destination Guide for events where the ppl are.. go and Speak UP!

(p.s. there are some Dating sites.. good luck with that if you try them!!)

[A new TOS?]

Well.. first and foremost... I KNOW NOTHING!!

But it appears to me that new TOS just gives LL rights to use 'user created content' in their advertising... or however they decide to otherwise (debugging is another LL 'use' I seen somewhere here).

That other place.... Faceb**k... did the same thing about a year ago, with a user 'stir' as well.

So... HEY.. if you happen to see YOUR FACE up on a billboard while driven 'round town.. don't be surprised! YOU AGREED to it!!

Your name doesn't indicate if you're Male or Female... making you a MorF!  But if male... Chat/IM all the girls that look to your liking! If you're Female... geez.. I don't know there!! HA!

 

I've found that Friends come/go QUICKLY in SL... the Good ones.. will stay with ya.

Sorry.. don't know the "where"... but have seen ads for SLGO for tablets... it's a separate service, I believe. (with separate fees).

Other than that there should be alot of "lite chat client" programs.... your Avi just 'stands' in world (can move around some.. but you cannot 'see' anything. The local chat and IM's work.. have chatted with many inworld while they state that they are 'using phone'.

Again, don't know where to get these either... I have one, MetaBolt. Thought I'd use it.. but don't like to just 'stand around' inworld, ya know?!

[Farms with crops, barns, hay, and such in Second Life?]

The US Extension service (or eXtension... as they call it) has a sim here in SL. Sorry I don't have a LM right handy, but you ought be able to find them.

 

Currently they are 'running' the Avatar Fitness Club on their land... additional to a Fair Grounds and AgAbility area. The 'club' has been showing up on the Destinations log-in screen, only opened the first of Sept, I believe. Haven't seen where they are doing anything like what you're asking about tho.
