If you are looking for a great host for your club then please send me an IM or an application. I have been searching for several weeks now for a hosting a job and am having no luck. I am assuming that my avatars age has something to do with it as this avatar is only 38 days old. So let me start with that. Yes this is a new avatar however I am not new to SL. I had an old account from 04-07 and even owned my own club from 05-07 that was successful enough to pay for itself. Due to some real life issues I was unable to continue to put the time in SL and had to leave. Now I am back and have all the time in the world to enjoy SL. I tried to get my old account back but was unable to so I have to start all over again. If my avatars age is holding you back from hiring me then I am willing to prove myself to you. I will work a shift or two for free just to show you that I am capable of performing the job. With that being said here is what I do when I work as a host, if this is what you are looking for then send me an IM. First and foremost I am there when I say I will be and stay till the end of my shift. I don’t mind covering for others if it fits in my schedule and if I ever can’t be there then you will not only be notified in advance but I will also try to find my own replacement for my shift. As a former club owner I know how frustrating it is to have events schedule and no staff to cover them. As a host I do not use gestures and do not spam. I believe that the #1 thing in clubs that usually makes people tune out local chat and go running for IM is a host that constantly spams chat with useless garbage. They type out the song lyrics, pump out gesture after gesture wooting an hooooooing like they are getting paid by the Hooooo. This is not me I monitor chat get involved in the conversation and never fight the flow of the conversation. I know when to lead, and when to follow. If the conversation is already flowing then I do not get in its way I just go with the flow. If there’s a long pause though, then that’s when I step up and lead. Not with garbage but with meaningful conversation. Maybe ask a trivia question, maybe talk about a current movie or event, maybe allude to something that was mentioned earlier in chat or a song the DJ played. It all depends on who is there and how the chat is going but my job is to start the flow again and then fall back to following it as the customers take over. One of my primary jobs as a host is to get people into the club. I do this by starting work before my shift starts. I log in early and send out a group invite before the event starts so people have time to prepare. I send out IMs to my friends that are online to let them know where I will be and what is going on. Once the shift has started I don’t spam the club group with invites (I will send out one at the start and one half way through, more if it is your club policy). I will however use the club group and get a conversation going in the group to bring in more people. It is more personal that way then just a mass invite to everyone. I have found that starting a conversation in the club group about what is going on at the time in the club brings more people in then just sending out a generic invite to the entire group. As a host I single people out and don’t forget people. Yes I send out the obligatory greeting to those who enter the club and welcome them but greeting a guest is not the end of my job, it’s just the beginning. If I see somebody in the club who’s not participating, then I try and find a way to bring them into the conversation. Maybe ask the DJ to play a song for them, or comment on their outfit. Whatever it takes to get them going. I realize that there are some who spend all their time in IM while at the club that is fine I will leave them alone. However, there are others who maybe want someone to talk to or a bit shy and just need a little nudge to get going. If I can give them that nudge then they will not only feel welcomed but they will come back to the club for more. I glance at profiles and look for new people to the club. This way I know who to ask if they would like a group invitation. I don’t just send out blind invitations to everyone I see who’s not wearing a group tag. A quick look at their profile tells me if they already belong to the group or not. A quick look at their profile tells me if they are new. If they are I send them a quick IM and try to get a little conversation going with them. This makes them feel welcomed and an IM is more personal than sending a message in chat. In an IM I can answer all their personal questions and guide them to the fun a lot quicker then in chat. As a host I also feel that part of my job is to work with and help out the DJ. I find out which DJ will be working with me and send them an IM beforehand to coordinate the event. Setting up a “Best in spurs and chap” event on a night with a DJ who plays gangster rap will not work. Ok so I know that’s an extreme example, but what I mean is this. I talk to the DJ and find out what type of playlist he/she has in mind and then find a theme to go along with the music. I believe this gets more people to participate in an event because they will already have what they need to participate. If the DJ plays more techno type music then some type of rave event will fit better, for example. I also try to help the DJ out while at the club. As someone who has worked as a DJ in the past I know that on a busy night a DJ will be lucky to catch 50% of the local chat. So I keep an IM open with the DJ. If I see a request in local I make sure the DJ saw it too. If I see something that the DJ should comment on in voice, I let them know. If the host and the DJ work as a team then the night flows smoothly the event goes well and all are happy. So yes this may be long but maybe it will get you to look at me as a host rather than a newbie. As I host I’m friendly, fun and personal. I talk TO people not AT them. I work as a conductor, not a runaway train. Above all, I HAVE FUN! Fun is infectious, and if the DJ and host are having fun then everybody else will too. Besides that’s what SL is all about isn’t it?

Thanks for the info Sid Riler it was very helpful. I found someone who is willing to make a custom skin for me so have that in the works now. While I am waiting for the skin I did get the Aiko skin from Belleza and it will work till the cutom one comes. Also found a shape from Tokyo Girl from the other forum thread you mentioned. She has some nice smaller shape and some good hair that fit them well also. So thanks for the advice it was helpful and I'm on my way to getting just what I want in my avatar.

Thanks for the post followed your direction and it made a difference in LL viewer. Right now I'm stuck on using a laptop because my desktop gave up and I'm saving up to get a good one. Tried to use firestorm (which a like) but just couldn't get it to be stable on my slower laptop. Never tried Catznip before but since all your other suggestions worked out great I'm downloading it now to test it out. Again thanks for the info has made my second life so much better (so now what can you do improve my first life :womanlol:

I have been shopping around and have been unable to find what I am looking for so far but if you know of places to look then let me know. What I have found is that is if I find the smaller shape I want then the hair that I find dosen't fit because it was mad for large shapes. Even when I buy ones that are modable they just don't fit right or maybe I'm just not doing it right. My main proplem though is with the skins. So I guess I'm looking more for a skin than anything. I have searched for asian skins and most all of them are Japanese or Chinese looking. I'm 100% Thai so even though I have asian qualities in me my skin is not white and it's not a taned caucasian color. While it's true that many women here in Thailand want to be white I like my yellowish brown skin and want to find a skin in SL that reflects that. The other problem I have with the asian skins I have found is the eyes. While my eyes do have an asian slant to them in the corners they are big and expressive not small and squinty. But like I said if you or anyone else can point in the right; direction to buy them then that's fine too I just haven't found any yet.

I’m looking for someone who has the time to help me create a complete avatar. When I say complete I mean complete from hair, shape, skin, and other body parts. So let me explain what I am looking for. Some skins look ok on some shapes and not on others. Some hair goes with certain shape and so on. What I want is for it all to fit together or be made for each other. For example lets start with the shape. I want something that resembles me, short and sweet. I am 134 cm (4′5″) and 32.9 kg (72.5 lbs). My measurements are 74B-54-70 (34AA-21.5-27.5). I want a shape that is similar to that. It can be a little bit bigger if that works better in SL but I want it small like me. Yes I know that you can just move sliders around but I have found that moving adult shape sliders to smaller sizes doesn’t always work. If you already have a shape that you have created that will work that is fine with me. So with the small shape I would then want my hair and skin to fit it. What I want to do is be able to send you pictures that you can use for the skin and hair. I realize it may not be 100% like the pictures but I would like it to be close. As far as the private parts go we can discuss those in private. I would like something that matches the skin color you created. It doesn’t have to have features such as animations etc., if that is too difficult to do. There are plenty of pose balls and other menus that work just fine for that sort of thing. What I would like is for it look like it’s part of my skin and fit so it doesn’t look so much like an attachment. I realize that all this will take some time so I’m not asking someone to do it in days or weeks. I also realize that because it is a lot of work it will not be cheap. That’s okay I’m trying to buy something so that I don’t have to buy anything else for my avatar but accessories. We can talk about the price and come to an agreement. I am also looking to do this in stages of sorts. By that I mean like if the shape and hair are easy to make and can be done quickly then do that first I will pay you and use them while you are creating the skin or whatever. I would also be open to paying you a percentage upfront for each piece before you start creating and the balance when they are finished, as long as you don’t say it will cost around L$ 5000 and then when it’s done say the final price is L$10000. Also if you have your own store and want to sell what you created for me I don’t mind as long as you are willing to change the face a little bit so it’s not exactly the same. Any way that’s what I’m searching for and not sure if it’s something that I will be able to find
