Well I don't think OpenSim is exactly the answer lol ... that's like what SL *was* back when it started basically ... why would you want to go back to something like that. And it's chaotic there, not worth my time personally. However, I think the ads aren't a good sign at all. I really think it's all about marketing and if SL could just revitilize their PR and marketing techniques and make it "cooler" things would be running smoothly. Overall, I like SL a lot, I'd hate to see it go.

Anyone else notice today they started putting a banner ad at the top, bottom and side of the page? And even when you're not logged there's one at the main page at Secondlife.com at the bottom... I think this isn't a good sign at all.

Haha, yes... it was the phantom not being on and the overhead lighting over the door ... I had shown it to men... and I'm really short... lol, so it was an issue of the light preventing them to enter --- silly me lol.

Hey there, So from what I understand, the debit permissions are required for many things to pay you ... but, today I just bought an adboard by Low Industries (https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/LOW-The-Excellent-AD-Board-with-status-bar/2786685) for 500 L$ and it *still* makes me do debit permissions. I kind of think it's strange... especially because they have an affiliate version that's free and only deducts 20% of the total you get from the board. Can someone make sense of this for me... I've never purchased from Low Industries before, makes me weary. Additional question: Is there a way to *revoke* debit permissions? Thanks! Ruby

That's not entirely true. Sure a lot is role play, but there are actually some "learning hubs" if you enjoy helping people on SL. Just try to search "university" in the search tab and a lot of stuff comes up. Most are RL universities and they may or may not hire you to be a support person... but in terms of actual teaching / lecturing? Well... that's all up to credentials I'm sure. I don't like how a lot of posts are so negative here. In reality, if you want to do something like that, you just have to dig very deep, because the reality is, education is the most popular topic on the grid. Try visiting every school / university you see in the Search listing until you see a Help Wanted and you could get lucky. I don't think they will be paying much of course... but you never know. Hope you find what you are looking for.

I see different categories, but mine is purely a rental which gets deeded rights on my estate... so do I post under estate then? Sorry... again, first time posting around this area.
