  1. In addition to Rolig's superb answer, another trick effective for me is logging in with low render quality.

    1. Start viewer

    2. Before log-in, Me - Preference - Graphics - Set "Quality and Speed" to Low, press OK

    3. Log-in

    4. After your AVI is rezzed, change Graphics setting to whatever you want

  2. You should go back to the restore point just before you installed drivers using syetm restore function on windows7.

Then make sure everything is alright and retry dirver update.

btw, the blender2.49b does not work on nvidia 306-97 driver, but windows update always try to install it! grrrrr

  3. If you are using a router in your home, try bypass it. Connect your PC to network modem directly and see if you can login or not.

Some modem has a router function in it(usually it has multiple LAN connectors). In that case, you should use Bridge instead of Router to connect multiple PCs. Otherwise, you may get unexpected slow response which eventually causes login problem.

  4. You should try searching object using area search of Firestorm by owner name(your username).

If object was rezzed under the land or floor due to some reason, it is impossible to find it unless you use area search.

That likely occurs if you switch the land scene(ex:mutil-scene skybox) after you rezz it.

If it is no copy object and you had rezzed it just before region restart, unfortunately it would have been totally lost.

  5. Maybe land owner is inhibiting sounds in a parcel.

ETA Look at parcel sounds property screen in the above URL.

There is a selection of Everyone or Group. If Everyone is unchecked, only group members are allowed to make sounds in a parcel.

Check the parcel details where you can't make sounds, World->Parcel details->Sounds

If only group is allowed, you must join a group and have to make group tag active.

  6. I changed my e-mail address for the test. It was done successfully.

    My browser is Firefox.

If you are using IE, try other browser.

Also be sure your password is SL password not a e-mail password.

  7. It is likely a overheating problem if you have video problem in a couple of min after you start software that uses a graphic card.

Open cover of PC and check dust on the fan of graphic card(you'd better to remove card from slot to check it),

also check dust on main fan of PC.

Before closing the cover , power on the PC and check all fans are rotating normally.

**I stll guess graphic card has a glitch. To isolate a faling component, remove graphic card from your PC then put it into another PCand see if problem moves or not.

  8. I have same symptom with you on firestorm. No problem on SL viewer.

My practical solution is to make copy of my shape and rename it(this is not mandatory but good to distinguish copied from original).

Then create an outfit for this purpose named "switch shape" which has copied shape and basic skin only.

When I get cloud, I open "switch shape" and replace shape only. This always works good for my case.

Hope it works for you as well

  9. My PC and network speed is fast like you, but I often get cloud on my AVI.

I tried many tips but there was no perfect solution.

So my practical solution is to make copy of my shape and rename it(this is not mandatory but good to distinguish copied from original).

Then I switch shape when i get cloud. I made an outfit for this purpose named "switch shape" which has copied shape and basic skin only.

However even if you see your AVI perfectly, it is possible you look cloud from other people.

Conclusion is you can not escape from cloud(and Ruth sometimes).
