  2. My best advice to you would be to just wait for your avatar to be older, or use your old account. Generally saying that you "had to make a new account" will sound pretty bad to any potential employers, because reasons for being forced to make a new account are typically not good.

  5. I actually have spoken to the owner of a real estate company and told him my plans and he said it would be fine. I believe I'll end up renting from him, so I'm good

  7. There will rarely be a time that 50 avatars will be on the sim... and the longest they would be there is two hours. I'm very aware that I'm not going to profit from this - I do it because I enjoy running it and it's something people want. I understand it may be hard to understand without knowing anything about the business, but thank you for your input.

  9. I'm by no means a land professional. I've been on SL for a long time, but typically I've just rented whatever land looks the prettiest and has good customer service. Now, next month I'm going to be renting a 1/4 sim for a business, and I'm having a hard time making decisions and knowing what land would be best for me. On occasion there could be upwards of 50+ people in my parcel at a time (no, its not a club), so one thing that I'm worried about is the avie cap on land. Furthermore, I'm not sure if I should rent a light commercial, or commercial property... I don't even really know if there's a difference to be quite honest. From what I've seen so far, it seems that the avie caps for a full sim is 100 avies... ergo, 25 avies are allowed in a 1/4 sim. Is this the general rule for all private regions? And does this mean that if you have more than 25 avies on the 1/4 sim, nobody else can enter the parcel?... or will it only be full once the whole 100 avie region cap is filled? I won't be able to afford anything more than a 1/4 sim, so that's out of the question. FINAL QUESTION... if you're still reading this then I applaud and thank you. Lol. I've seen 1/4 commercial sims with the same amount of prims and same rating go for anywhere from L$4500 to L$6000 per week.... Is there actually a difference? Or should I just go with whatever is cheapest? Any information or advice is appreciated :)
  10. Before I begin, I'd like to let you know that this is not a strip club, or any sort of club. Please message me in-world if you'd like more information. I've run a successful business like this before - the only reason it ended up shutting down was because my investor dropped out unexpectedly, and I did not have the financial means to keep it going without him. Circumstances are different now, and while I still do need sponsors, I'll be able to keep the business afloat in the case that sponsors drop out. Although of course I can make no guarantees, the business should be at least mostly financially self sustainable within 2 or 3 months. Basically, I need the lindens for tier. I plan on being on a 1/4 sim until the business is big enough to expand to a full sim. Depending on the realestate company, a 1/4 sim is about L$20,000 per month (give or take), and staff costs an additional L$8,000 monthly, which is around a total of $115.00 USD. I'm reopening this business because it's something I'm passionate about, and I believe it helps many people in the Second Life world. My hope is that I can find sponsors that are as dedicated as I am to providing a safe, fun, place to all kinds of people in Second Life. It would be great if you're involved with, or at least familiar with and accepting of the role play / family community in Second Life. Thank you for your interest, and I hope to hear from you!

  14. I don't quite understand what you're asking for... the title has completely thrown me off. You want a job in which you are paid in HS? What's HS? I'm just confused.

  16. I have absolutely had this problem, and it's just a mesh thing. The guy above me explains it better than I would be able to. You set something down and it either appears above or below the floor, or it goes out of bounds and says that you can't set it down. Unfortunately there's not much one can do about it

  19. If you want to find a position in which you are trusted and put in charge, you may want to have more on your profile. You have no picture, no information, no picks, and no RL info. You may have been on SL for 4 years, but your profile indicates that you're new, and when it comes to being hired for an authoritative paid position, you're going to be treated as one.

  25. As someone who has been on Second Life for six years, I can tell you that the chances of someone hiring you as a personal shopper are VERY slim. For starters, your avatar is one week old. Although you state on your profile that you've been playing for three years, that really means nothing. A new avatar means no credibility - and that means that anyone trusting you with their lindens is highly unlikely. There's a market for personal stylists and shoppers in SL if you're targeting the right group, however , with your profile and lack of proof of experience, it's not going to happen. You have no photos on your profile, no picks, and have two groups that have nothing to do with fashion or shopping. For someone to even considering spending extra money on the luxury of having a personal stylist, they would need to know exactly what they're paying for and that they can truly trust the person they're hiring. That being said, to be considered as a personal stylist/shopper, you should have photos of the work you've done, some sort of website/page/blog, an avie that's old enough to have at least some credibility, a good profile pic, and the list goes on and on.... You have none of those. I hope I'm not coming off as mean - I'm just trying to help you get a head start. The number of people on Second Life that would actually be willing to spend extra money just to have someone shop for them is very little, so to have any chance of being considered for the job, you need to make sure you're advertising yourself correctly.
