I know a lot of people hate to hear this, but SL is beginning to bore me to bits. And it's all I've got to do, really. Well, I've gotten some advice from people, and got called a whiney brat. Pretty much what I expected, but thanks to all of you who actually suggested things. I appreciate it. After my break, I'll try some out.

A bunch of my items are no longer in their folders and my item count is way down. But it's different on the Firestorm viewer and the default viewer. On Firestorm, I have about 35k items. Whereas I've got about 60k items in the default veiwer. [ and less empty folders. ] For Firestorm, I lost 20k items the first time around and just recently, I've lost another 30k. With the default viewer, I've only lost the original 20k items. Some of the empty folders held items that I rarely used or didn't use, others held items I used frequently. This being said, my favourites folder, photo album, sounds folder, and some folders in the 'library' are empty as well. I've cleared my cache, done clean installs, everything that people have suggested and I'm at a loss. I tried looking up anything on this particular situation, but I came up with nothing. It was all about rezzing objects that have a database error, or perceived inventory loss. I have checked other folders for the items, I've done everything I have been told to do, or thought of doing myself. I'm stuck and I just want my objects back.

I'll PM you about Skype soon. And as for screenshots, how do I show you them? Just message you them too? I'd rather not post them everywhere. And I have a "right now" kind of question. I would like to have a UV map that I can colour in. I've gotten this far: I don't know how to make an image that I can colour over in Photoshop. That said, I'm not sure if this is even how you go about doing it.

Truthfully, I was looking for a teacher. But tutorials are close enough, if that's all I can get. I've learned a lot already by watching and flailing at my keyboard. I don't know anything about blender, so I don't even know what to ask. I could throw as many screenshots, concepts, ideas at you as you need, if that means it'll help me understand what I'm doing. [ I'd be willing to show people what I'm doing/have done on Skype, but apparently skype prioritizes itself every time I log in, and everything except skype is frozen and untouchable. ] Being this lost in Blender has caused me to dumb down so much, my common sense isn't working. It took me three hours yesterday, watching someone do something, repeatedly, just to figure out I was forgetting to press 'apply.' I annoyed my partner asking so many questions, because my common sense vanished. I'm so clueless, I can't even... ahshd.

Amg, thank you. This is great! I'm new to all this and I didn't know what to search, I think. So every time I did, I would get nothing but crap thrown at me. Spent too many nights reading through webpages that wouldn't have my answers, but I'm pretty certain this will. This is a damn good starting point. Thank you so much!

Google is no help when it comes to Blender. :I At all. Ever. Couldn't even figure out how to export anything until my boyfriend figured it out for me. He says my version of Blender is evil and weird? And what do you need to help me? I'm making an anthro lizard thing, rigged mesh body and sculpted parts. I've done the skull, which I'm now editing because I found flaws when I went to upload it into SL, and noodling with the body. But I've never done rigged mesh before, so I didn't go too detailed in case there's a different process and I'd have to start over. I basically need someone to give me their mesh/avatar secrets 'cause I haven't got a **bleep**INGCLUE what I'm doin'. D: Gimme a teacher, specific tutorial, anything that google isn't helping me with.

By "general help," I mean all the help ever. I want to make an avatar in Blender, but I've no idea how people keep the proportions and sizes the same? Like... how do I make the jaw of this lizard thing, fit perfectly into the skull? And how do I make rigged mesh feet? And body? Actually, I'm willing to hear any advice at all, really. Just pour boiling knowledge all over my face, please. As for what I know already, I know how to sculpt and upload it. Sort of...

I've had second life for some time now, mainly because my boyfriend suggested I get it. I really like SL, but I've no idea what I'm doing. My boyfriend hasn't taught me anything. So I desperately need help learning how to do things. I'm looking for some friendly people [ I have no friends. ], and a place to 'park' my avi away from strangers so I can edit her in peace. I'm very introverted and it's taken me months to build up the courage to actually post in the forums, so forgive me if I'm awkward and quiet! Any advice or replies from possible 'mentors'/friends are very much appreciated!
