  1. Hello everyone, I am looking for some form of work to earn L$ and also meet new people as well on the side! I mostly have experience with being a host and dancer, and I know how to send notices, notecards, and emote! I don't use mic unless it's to verify my age and gender.

I'd like to try new things out though like selling land, holding some sort of position at a inworld store, or even anything else! I may need training for it, just as a warning.

I am 20-years-old and female (though genderfluid atm). I am friendly, generous, helpful, and I am tech savvy to a degree. I like meeting new people despite my shy nature, as well as that I love to do gaming. While I am not online 24/7 I figure you can catch me at some point.

IM or send a notecard to: BloodyKitty230

  2. Hello everyone, I decided to make another post because I'm looking for a job. Now as for which kind? I'd prefer a host(ess) or a dancer maybe, but if there's other offers out there I'd do my best to take them if training is involved depending on what it is. A quick note is for a dancer, I'd need full training but I know how to emote. I can't cam or voice though.

In the past I've worked in four clubs as a hostess over the span of one at a time of course. Currently I work for Oh Snap! (a sales rep) as well as an article writer but I'm more or less on an indefinite hiatus / leave because of real life.

If you want to contact me, the best way is via IM inworld, my username is: BloodyKitty230

You could also send a notecard in case I don't get your IM for some reason, whether I'm offline or something.

  3. Hello there everyone and my name is BloodyKitty230 (and or Kelly). I am looking for a job within SL and I can do a few things and I'm willing to learn in fields I haven't tried.

I have experience as a host and I've been in three clubs already as one, maybe for a year or so? One of them closed and one moved (hoping to get a job in the new club), and my current one which I've been with for a year I'd say? is a Furry type club. I know how to emote, use gestures, and I can be talkative via typing. Unfortunately the only issue is that I don't have a mic. Besides hosting I also tried my hand and am currently a writer for an article.

Below are a few skills I have:

    - Writing (grammar, spelling, etc) / Writing articles

    - Basic Photoshop skills

    - Hosting

    - Video editing

The one thing I'm unable to do is DJing because I do not have the equipment and probably not good enough of a computer yet. Another thing is that I don't have experience with dancing but I'd be willing to learn and have a trial if anything. I am +19 years old and my avatar / account is six months old.

If you want to contact me just shoot me an IM in world, reply to the post here, and or shoot me a message through the site and I'll reply back as soon as I can!

  4. Hello everyone! I know there are millions of threads about hosting opportunities and fill-ins wanted but I figured the easiest way is to post my own topic.

So I had done my first hosting job a few months ago (I believe this year though), unfortunately the club closed down I believe. I was given another opportunity to be apart of a friends sim to host whenever I could and it's great! I just want to try out some other places on the side if possible?

    • I am 19-years-old in RL and in SL (my avatar looks the age more so)
    • I am beginning to get the hang of notifications to alert people of the party that's going on. (May need help on the side)
    • I am female in RL and SL
    • I've had at least a few months experience of hosting all together

As for my time avalibility, I'm avaliable most anyday after 9 most likely. I will be interactive with people, even new people who come. Unfortunately I may be back and forth from my computer because I care for my sick father, so if I go quiet that is why.

If you'd like to talk with me please send me an IM inworld, my username of couse is: BloodyKitty230

  5. I'm not sure how to explain why people wouldn't like me I just feel like I'm not good enough for other people or that I'd be to much of a person that bothers other people with conversation or just to say hi. I mean I'll keep trying to get the guts to approach other people but so far it hasn't been working out.

If I gave off the vibe that I wanted to be perfect or make friends right away with every single person than I apologize for it! About going to places to do what interests me I usually try and find places like that but when I go there's not really many people at that time, which is a problem so sometimes I do rely on the hot spots but when I can I keep trying to look at places that'd be of interest, and doing the things I like too.

    Thanks for the help.

  6. Okay so I have been in SL on an off since I was seventeen, of course before in the teen grid of SL before being moved into the adult one. While I have traveled around to different locations, whether or not they had residents in it I always felt a bit lonely.

I'm sort of thinking the reason why I feel lonely is because I'm always too shy to approach one person or a few people and say hi, or that I feel like they wouldn't like me right off the bat (which usually people don't like someone RIGHT away). But I've always felt lonely despite trying to do things that I enjoy.

  7. Hello everyone, like everyone else here I decided that I wanted to try and grab a job in SL to earn lindens (since I am unable to really buy them right now), and also to get experiences with meeting new people too!  I've only heard of jobs as strippers, building, designing, modeling, etc. But I'm willing to try anything really.

Here are a few skills I have (whether or not it could be applied inworld):

    • Drawing
    • Writing
    • Organizing
    • Playing musical instruments (though I have no real way of making it heard inworld)
    • Helping other people
    • Tech savvy

I don't have the best looking avatar of the bunch but she'll do. I'm only saying this if I'm given an offer to model or something like that. By the way I'm 18 going on 19 so I'm not sure if the whole stripper thing is allowed despite me being legal age.

But contact me inworld and I'll get back to you!: BloodyKitty230

  8. Before my question I want to apologize like I always do if it's in the wrong section of the forums or if we aren't really supposed to talk about Third-party viewers like Phoenix or Singularity but I really need some help.

I find Singularity to be a bit faster then the default viewer for SL, and I honestly like some of the things in it. I'm not sure if I just missed it or didn't really try but you know how in the main viewer for SL that when you move the camera moves with you? Well I was wondering if it did the same thing in Singularity or if there was a way to turn the camera around using the right-click button or something? Is the camera in Singularity restricted to moving it using the actuall buttons after opening it?

Sorry if I was unclear with this.

  9. @Lexia Moonstone - I should try that, because like the dumb little person I am I never thought it was worth trying. That's actually a good idea to do, despite it taking a little bit. I don't mind doing it if I get something in the end, ya know? 700L is a lot to me! Whoa.

I agree, it could use some work but that's up to LL on whether to fix some things on it or not. Whether it's the search, or the little boxes you can tick or whatever. Thanks or the advice.

@Amethyst Jetaine - Yea, I can see your point in that. I hope to eventually try it, but the thing is that because of my computer being under the requirement the texture/pictures take a little to load up but nonetheless I will look around in world for my items. I'll look at Fabfree too, I just hate when something disappoints you that its either an old thing, or that you learn up ending it costs but doesn't hurt to look

Probably does take a bit of time and effort like your saying, and thats sort of why I like the marketplace because you don't have to wait or textures or pictures to load, but it just seems so long to find one thing if you dont have a search idea in mind.

Thanks for understanding first off. Maybe even if it's just a little I'll contribute a little money to me being able to get an item I'd like thats not free but first I think I'll wait till I am able to get a better computer where it's worth staying in game longer than I have been due to a bit of slow loading and how it looks graphics wise.

I actually was thinking of getting a job in the game, but not sure many people would hire 18 year olds for them but you never know, some people might, haha. Thanks for the advice too C:

@Tari Landar - First off thanks for the link to it, I'll search it at some point during the day. I actually doing believe people when they say that though, I have found nice items for like 50L or even 70L close to 80. I guess I'm sort of like those people but not to the point where I'm begging people to give me lindens or just give me nice items you know?

@Bobbie Faulds- I'll try and find some hunts, hopefully ones that I am able to attend too because some already passed or they are bit complicated but nothings easy right? :)

    I'll definitely look around.

  10. I can understand what you mean, I didn't think that many lindens would get me anywhere but ya' know, some people don't want to really put their cash into the virtual world, even if they are in a good financial position, but that's just me. I try my best to put effort into searching but I guess it's hard to find anything that appeals to me. In some ways though I guess I can't stick to things because of how my game doesn't feel worth playing at times because of how my system is below the required requirements or SL and the graphics are all icky (because i have to keep em' low).

    But thanks for replying :)

  11. Okay so I been looking around the market here to find clothes, hairs, or just anything I'd like to put on my avatar (sadly only having 87 linden limits your choice from what I see). But does anyone hate looking through the market place and not knowing what to search for because of just wanting anything that comes up? This might sound like I'm being lazy but I'm not, I just dislike it.

Yea there's a search bar and I know you can type of ideas you have for the type of clothing you want but then I sometimes become disappointed in not finding the particular item I have in mind (if that makes any sense).

  12. In a way I sort of figure like that's the deal because of how this is a refurbished computer (not sure if it makes a difference). And by the way, report back to you in what way exactly? ^^'

In some ways I sort of assumed something like that but I didn't know that it makes a heavy load on networks, that's interesting to say the least.

Since this laptops at the end of its rope (fan wise), there's no use in trying to fix it or it's connection or even the graphics card unless I REALLY wanted to play SL.

(Not sure if you needed the audio ones so yea)

  13. Like always, apologies if it's not in the right section of the tech forum.

I just have a question about the loading in SL. When the game loads after login or teleporting, is it normal to have everything gray at first or should it be showing everything right away (depending on your settings)? Because for me it shows a lot of gray things at first. Could it be my connection that makes it that way despite me having a low-end computer?

By the way I'm using Singularity viewer. (but it happens on the official Second Life viewer too)

My connection is a wired one and it's really good with the bars on the signal strength are all green, meaning excellent. I really want to play SL but I can't stand all the gray and not being able to really put the settings on medium at least to make it seem pretty.

  14. @Dresden - So far I am not able to upgrade it due to a lack of money our family makes, and plus I do not have a proper job yet (though I have to look for one when I can). Actually I believe I do have a decent wired connection at home, since like I keep saying the bars are all green for the signal strength. Don't worry I'd be the same as you but sadly I feel like I need some sort of game on my computer to play or else just logging into Facebook or Tumblr all day would be boring, heh.

That is very nice of you to do that, especially for your sister! Investing in doing that though probably costed a few good buck right? Probably does for all of us at some point. Aw come on don't worry, you were help by willing to ask questions and talk about it despite you drinking your cocktails. (almost said 'trails')

@Ren - My apologies for not being clear. And I sort of figured that it could be old or not powerful enough of hardware to be able to run SL. And all those things are interesting to hear, but I've only experienced slow movement (at times), somewhat delayed text after pressing, enter, and also I have low framerates at times too.

I never really knew that could happen when you have a great computer like you said. Well I did lower my bandwith a tad but not all the way down, and also I do have good network speed (unlike some other days). I would say the two cases are a combination of whats sort of going on if that makes sense. The next time I login I'll check it and make sure its at the recommendation you say and i'll see how it goes from there. Thankfully my houses router is just on the other side of my room in my brothers, so I'm not far away at all.

I'd totally dive into the router if my brother wasn't one who pointed fingers for things breaking, but maybe one day I'll try hopefully. I actually never would've guessed that about the viewer cache size, I'll have to try that as well!

P.S. - Thanks for everyones recommendations and words!
