Note: you also could have blocked him. At that moment he could no longer make any purchase from your MP store. When you block someone in-world, it also blocks them from making Marketplace purchases from you.

Now I know, I read it a few days ago in this same forum, but when it happened I didn't know. Thank you!

Right now they returned the money that LL discounted me yesterday, for "fraudulent purchases."
    Kristin solved it again ;)

they took money again Alma? what were the dates of the purchases, were these new hacks?

The purchases were made on 2/2/2020, I was connected when it happened, I immediately checked the purchases and saw that they were being sent to a newly created account. (That account was deleted within a few minutes).
The person who made the purchases was connected and I talked to him, I told him about the purchases, that I was sure it was a stolen account and that I was going to report it to LL.
He did not answer me and continued to spend money considerably.

Report it to LL immediately, with data, names and screenshots, a report in the world and a ticket.

That ticket was sent to Marketplace> General Marketplace Issues. And it was in process until yesterday, which closed without response.

In the afternoon my money was withdrawn.

    I fully agree with you.
I have the same problem that has been happening since January 2020, and it happened today again. Linden has already withdrawn from my L $ 19,500 account, from my gacha store in the market, claiming that the lindens they used to buy originate from fraud, only it is Linden's word and they do not go into details saying what fraud was and who committed.
I've already opened 4 tickets and they don't return my lindens.
What happens is that the seller who pays for the crime committed by other residents, and Linden, who should offer security in transactions, chooses to go the easiest way, which is to penalize the seller. The buyer who theoretically committed the fraud, and the resident who wins the gift go unpunished, it is us the merchants who are left with no money and no items that are NO COPY.
The commissions we pay Linden for our sales on the Market should guarantee the financial insecurity of the market place platform. Criminals go unpunished and we lose real time and money.
If anyone is to blame for all this, it is not us salespeople.
I'm really upset about it all.

It happened to me the same, but it turns out that all departments do not work the same, I sent 4 tickets, and in the end they returned the money, you must send it to Marketplace> General Marketplace Issues.
There I sent 2, the first one was not answered, the second one solved it for me
Yesterday I sent another, since they removed about 47000l again.
I trust they'll give them back to me ...

  4. I have put my items up for sale, after talking with Kristin, I feel more protected.
I think this incident will make them work more on this issue, and I hope they also start controlling copybot, because I think it is related to account theft, in every way it is also a big problem, as we all know.

I am very glad that are working on it, until now we were totally unprotected against this.

  5. Hello Alma Draegonne,

Thank you for contacting us. Your case has been escalated to me for further review. I am sorry to hear about issues you’ve encountered regarding some recent Linden Dollar assessments from your account.

After conducting a secondary review, we have reversed the assessments from your account between the dates of 12/21/2020 - 2/1/2020. This should now be reflected in your Linden Dollar balance.

We apologize for any frustration and inconvenience this may have caused, and are working on improving this process to reduce the negative impact on our Residents.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance.

    At last!  :)

    TY Kristin Linden !!!

I have asked if this is going to continue, since other times it has happened have not returned the losses.

Depending on what they answer, I will re-list my articles or not. At the moment I still don't activate them because I don't trust too much

are you putting the correct words in? see patch lindens post he tells you how to address the ticket

I hope so, they seemed to understand me lol

Seriously, I sent tickets to several departments, I wasn't sure who to turn to, so I tried several, the first one went to the marketplace but they didn't answer me, then I tried others, now I insist on the: Marketplace > General Marketplace Issues., I'll tell you that they respond

    Hello Alma Draegonne,

Thank you for contacting the Account Security team. We understand your concern regarding your recent Linden Dollar assessment.

I do understand your frustration. However since the items were purchased with Lindens that  were obtained through unauthorized and fraudulent activity within Second Life. Pursuant to Section 3.1(ii) of the Second Life Terms of Service, the Linden Dollars received by your account are now void and must be removed. Accordingly, we have assessed the Linden Dollars against your account, and you should see this reflected in your Linden Dollar balance.

We understand the fraudulent Linden Dollars were used to purchase item(s) from your store. As stated in our Privacy Policy, we are unable to discuss another person’s account. While we cannot return the items to you, we can assure you every measure has been taken to secure the accounts and reduce the impact of this fraudulent transaction.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this matter.

    Best Regards,

you are right - I have written little information, I am afraid of incorrect translation-English is not my native language, so it may look like an unproven fact. You are also right in the second part - my items were copied as you described, and they were purchased with stolen funds, and I am 100 percent sure of my words. All who suffered from theft I think would find their items in this store, but I have now checked - this store and its owner are removed. Did this LL or himself the thief - I do not know, unfortunately. Also, I think everyone already knows Tekatoka 89, and that she is the main copybot in SL. Everyone is tired of her dumping prices - she doesn't care, she sells stolen goods. even now, you can buy things from her in the store with the specified last owner - Tanja Byron, although Tanja never sold her things and wrote to LL many times  about it.

You may be right, and I have also thought about it, since most of the collections that are stolen from me, are the ones that later appear in the copybots stores that are scattered throughout the market, and there are many. Once I made a tracking with several Gacha creators to report it to LL and we found more than 100

On a proactive note: There are many Gacha groups in SL however in most the sellers just post links to their MP stores or locations to their shops (and then close down the group chat window). I, like quite a few I know, do not want to run around enormous yard sales or sims with gacha stores to find specific items I want. I am inclined to create a new group where buyers can post for the specifics they are looking for and get IMs from sellers. And sellers can list off a couple of their items for sale and state IM me for a notecard with my complete offerings or the like.

I am primarily a buyer not a major reseller like many of you however if it wasn't for you guys and your vast inventories on MP I would have to spend so much more time hunting down items i want.

If this idea resonates with you or if you have any suggestions please send me a NC or IM Inworld so we can keep this forum primarily focused on the main topic (kinda hypocritical I know but I want to find a way forward!). Please don't leave SL big resellers! You have made life so much sweeter for decorators like me.

I had a gacha resale shop in the world, but as you say there are huge sims full of resale in which you can spend hours without finding what you are looking for, that is why most people use the marketplace, I use it myself to buy items that I need to complete the collections that I sell later.

People prefer the market to look for gacha items and I closed the world store, since I have more rentals to pay and for me it was an extra expense that doesn't bring me benefit.

The group you have commented sounds good, at least to be able to sell the things that we cannot offer in the market while the hyenas are lurking...

Yup the more LL sees MP sales drop the more their bottom line is affected and the more incentive they have to act. They have shareholders wait until they have to explain that because they had no fail safes in place a few scammers were able to cause a large number of re-sellers to delist and that is why quarterly profits fell 5% Sansar is already a very big cash gobbler haha

I hope they react, although I don't have much faith..

  11. 9 minutes ago, GrandDukeDylan Rothmoor said:

Well if that is the case then the only solution is for some kind of verification code and even if the Lab is willing to do that there is no way they will implement it very quickly so ya MP is dead to me right now. Your move Linden Labs your move.

I am removing all the items that can be goodies for these thieves, it is bad for me because the store will remain empty, but I am not willing to continue feeding them

Correct but the scammer will have to be sure the person isn't logged on then. Plus if they do log on first and find all the stuff they might quickly change their password. The point is it makes it a little more difficult not much more but every bit helps.

But they connect in the world to buy, I have already contacted more than one while they bought me. As they are exaggerated amounts of money, I immediately check them and see that they are sending things to new accounts. More than once they were connected because I spoke to them, one even thanked me for the items ...

Allowing for the gift option to be disabled will not entirely solve the problem of course it just makes the scam harder as they will not only have to hack the account but also be logged into that account Inworld so they can send the items manually to their alts. No doubt the scammer will adapt but the more difficult it becomes for them to do this scam the more likely they are to look for another unlawful gig. That is why in an earlier post I said that allowing the gift option toggle to store owners should be the immediate step to stop the heavy bleeding and that LL will need to look into two tier verification for purchasing Linden such as an email or SMS with a verification code as has become common online.

But he can have the "pirate account" offline, send things as he buys them, and then connect to pick up. He doesn't have to be online to receive the items.

True, it will not solve the problem for vendor boards inworld, but on MP where, of late, gacha stores are being hit, a no gift option would solve that problem.  In my shop Inworld I use texture boards and price boxes, there is no gift option.  You come in hit the box, pay the price and get the item.  If the item is mean as a gift, the buyer can transfer it later.

It is the Market stores that I refer to. These hackers, steal accounts, buy things as a gift to new accounts that have just opened and then closed, after having sent the items anywhere.

Now, at least they do it that way. In the same way they can steal an account, buy things and as they are "transfer" send them to the "pirate" account they just opened, and that's it...

My request to Linden Labs is that they make a slight change to the MP listing feature that could disable the gift giving option for transferable items,  By doing that it would stop the hackers ability to send items to themselves from hacked accounts.  It would not be that much of an inconvenience to a true buyer, they could just give it to the person from inside SL and if by chance a hacked item was bought, it would go to the account holders inventory and could then be returned for refund.

I believe that removing the gift option does not eliminate the problem, you can buy things and send them to the new account in the world. Items can be tracked because they have an ID, in fact I track one of the purchases, not with that method, but following account transfers, and I found the final recipient, and have sent the notification to LL. The answer is always the same "Due to the privacy policy, they are not allowed to enter the accounts to take the objects"...

  16. Hello, I did not know about this forum, and I have arrived here out of desperation, there have always been thefts of accounts and fraud of this type, but in less than a week almost 200K have been taken from my shop in complete gacha collections and no copy items. LL  takes my money but does not return the items. The answer "due to the privacy policy, they cannot access other accounts to check the objects".

I mean they steal from me in a totally protected way.

LL should protect us, it is thanks to trade that the economy of SL is sustained.

I do not know what to do, I do not dare to continue selling items in my store...

    Sorry my English.

  17. Hola Irene, gracias!!!!

    Alma
