The icons are: a white tanktop indicates an undershirt layer; a button-down, short-sleeved shirt indicates a shirt layer; and a red, long-sleeved "jacket" indicates a jacket layer. (The icons vary slightly depending on your viewer, but these are the Phoenix icons.) Wear the undershirt for a bra and it should appear underneath any shirt and/or jacket layer you wear. Thank you, that explains well, I did purchase this bra as part of a set and it shows as a 'shirt' item so maybe I inadvertently deleted something when I thought I had a duplicate. Sue

Then your bra should stay under your outfit. Strange, this was a purchased Lingerie set, bra, panties, garter and nylons but the bra icon looks like a shirt and that would explain the problem. Thanks for pointer. Sue

They items highest in the listing appear on the outside. Using Phoenix as the SL viewer failed to work on my computer after a recent update and being quite new I was not able to fix it, Phoenix works fine but not sure about that menu item, can't find it at the moment. So, if you have a shirt as undershirt and a bra on the same layer; put the bra on first, then the shirt. This way the shirt will layer on top. That wasn't happening yesterday but I suppose then it may have been a viewer problem possibly. Sue

Didn't know I had control over that, I thought the icon was set by the designer, how can I wear it as underwear, I only appear to have a 'wear' option on the bra. Sue

  7. I know the easy answer is 'don't wear a bra' :matte-motes-inlove: but I also note from other posts that many of us like to dress properly so my question is; Sometimes (not always) my bra appears over the top of a camisole/vest top I wear, if it always on top I'd know what to do but sometimes it is OK and others on top. Is there any reason for this. Sue

Once a plot's in your name, you can controll who has access to it. Good for setting up a barbie-dressup-stand in the sky, or even rezzing a barbie house, that swag pink car, and inviting Ken over to play with the new lovegen bed... Getting more and more interesting all the time..:smileylol: Sue

Sue Welcome to the forums, Sue! As for "silly chat ups", aren't those the best kind? Thank you, everyone is so helpful. I suppose you are right re the chat ups, rebuffs are much easier in SL, teleport is great :matte-motes-grin: Sue

The sim owner had made a wonderful underwater world, with sunken ships and lots of fishies, lol, made me want to be a mermaid. If she/he had a traffic counter, they must have wondered why I was there so much...between shopping at the store and diving into the water to change, I was almost a full time resident. Sounds fascinating, I'll have to give somthing like that a try. Sue

()y Oh, initially the main fun for me is the different outfits, all in my size :matte-motes-grin: and most fit quite well. Sue

Sue Personally I try to avoid 'No Modify' items. One can get always better fitting if one can modify manually the individual prims. Thank you. Sue
  14. Thanks everyone, maybe I'm not so silly after all :matte-motes-sarcasm: I'll have to look in to skyboxes and pose stands in the sky as I have no idea as yet how to use either. Sue
  15. Thank you for replies, most helpful. Sue

  17. So much to learn in SL Why are some clothes Worn and others Attached, is it just the complexity of the item. Sue
  18. Amethyst Jetaime wrote: Avatars come in all sizes and shapes and a clothing designer can only make things fit an average shape and size. So its very typical.that you have to move prims around or resize them to get the best fit for your avatar. I have to mod just about everything i buy this way. Spending some time learning how to do this is time well spent if you want to look your best. In the properties of my coat it says, 'No Modify', I am trying to stretch it but am not sure if that is the correct or best way to try. Sue

  21. Bree Giffen wrote: I can see that it may be difficult to edit that skirt as the root prim is a flexi prim and it is probably at a weird angle to begin with. I don't know how it went wrong in the first place, I didn't intentionally do anything :matte-motes-not-even: Thanks for the tips. Sue
  22. I get the following two displays; Sue
  23. Negative was probably a wrong description, colours change and it takes on a 'line type' appearance. I'll try your suggestion for the pose mode, I suppose this is like the 'appearance' option. Thank you for suggestion, Sue
  24. I'll try the shape alteration. I have been a bit unadventurous with that up to now as somehow I ended up with an avatar I like, I think I got it with an outfit somehow but I like it anyway so I am reluctant to do too much until I know what I am doing. Somehow a skirt (attachment) part of an outfit is not sitting on my avatar correctly and I did not knowingly alter or edit it. Sue
  25. Thank you, I'll try the classes. Sue
