Mark your calendars! An exhibition of pictures inspired by Leonard Cohen songs, originally shown at the Palais Orleans Art Studio and Design in 2012, will be coming to the Ruins of Beau Belle (SLURL: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Beau%20Belle/158/18/31) today, February 16. We will be having an opening event from 1 PM to 3 PM SLT where you can meet curator Morgana Nagorski and some of the artists who contributed to the collection. Harry Cannned, the owner of the Leonard Cohen Club, will also play some of the specific songs that inspired the artwork. Most of the people on my home sim, Beau Belle region, live in Europe. They are a lot of fun and love music. We have a dance club, the Leonard Cohen Club, that sometimes gets in live musicians. We also have another hangout, Belle's Coffee Shop, that gets both DJs and live musicians. You'll usually find someone dancing or being silly during normal EU hours during the week, and on the weekends we -- both the EU group and the USA group -- all get together and have fun. We're one music-loving family. Please come join us!

My favorite place is my home sim, Beau Belle! I've only been in SL since August 10, but I love the region so much I've already gotten together with some friends to rent a beautiful beach house there. Everyone is incredibly friendly and there is so much to do -- a dance club, a coffee shop with live music or DJs, a games room, a cinema, a tower, a gallery ... Everything, from the residential to the commercial is integrated so well I usually walk all over the sim rather than TPing because I don't want to miss anything. Oh, no, I didn't mean to imply that the Europeans would be awake at 5 p.m. SLT! Heck, if Akalee is on at 5 p.m. Pacific/SLT, then all us East Coast folks will probably be around, checking in after work. I just was noting that since Akalee is free on Fridays and Saturdays and is a late-night person in general, staying up really, really late Friday and Saturday nights (actually, I guess that would mean staying up until the early hours Saturday and Sunday mornings) would work to catch the folks on my sim. Sorry for the confusion!
