I need help setting up my firestorm on windows 8, i ran this same computer on windows 7 with no problems

I am having the same issue, Not getting an error message at all, it will load to the log in page but even then not fully, and then just crash down. I don't even get the chance to log in. And i have been playing SL for a year so this PC is no the issue. But i have a intel i5 core windows 7 and a ATI mobility Radeon HD 550V So can anyone tell me what the issue is, i can get other things to work on my pc just not SL and i was on it fine just last night ( I was also running a MIRC program on my PC when i was trying to log in....When i shut that down, SL came up just fine)
