Welcome back! The most game-changing in-world improvement, I think, was the introduction and the following widespread of mesh - Second Life looks beautiful now, however, to stay competitive on the creators market, one has to learn much more than working with prims, because prim items and system layer clothes fail any possible competition. You may want to update the wardrobe - it's worth it. Mesh is beautiful. Shopping events are the residents' favourite pastime now - those are basically where many brands rent a booth and offer no more than a few items at the moment of time, so residents can get acquainted with many apparel brands at one location. Very convenient. New ones appear every other month. Second Life Destination Guide has the separate category for those since very recently. The number of active users is on decline, rarely going higher than 50,000 users loggen on at the same time in-world. The Grid looks barren, the regions are empty most of the time. Adult regions do not seem to have that problem. The new CEO, Ebbe Altberg, strives for receiving the regular feedback from the users, answering to their questions as frequently as once in 2-3 months at the events such as LabChat and SLB Community Celebration. His aspiration for the consistent dilogue with the users is inspiring. Look up LabChat on YouTube to get the idea. Good luck exploring the brand new Grid!

Tari, in the reply you quoted, I corrected the way Alwin misquoted me. I did not say that Alwin's argument is invalid because it contradicts mine. Perhaps the "But..." gave that impression, and in that case, I apologize for the misleading phrasing.

But the entire quote is: "6.2 You agree that you will not post or transmit Content or code that may be harmful, impede other users' functionality, invade other users' privacy, or surreptitiously or negatively impact any system or network. You agree to respect both the integrity of the Service and the privacy of other users. You will not: (iii) Engage in malicious or disruptive conduct that impedes or interferes with other users' normal use of or enjoyment of the Service;" In my opinion, this does count as disruptive conduct that impedes the enjoyment of the Service.

To support my argument, I would like to quote the ToS, in particular section 6.2 part (iii): "6.2 You agree that you will not post or transmit Content or code that may be harmful, impede other users' functionality, invade other users' privacy, or surreptitiously or negatively impact any system or network. You agree to respect both the integrity of the Service and the privacy of other users. You will not: (iii) Engage in malicious or disruptive conduct that impedes or interferes with other users' normal use of or enjoyment of the Service;"

Hello, community, Recently the links of the type "secondlife:///app/wear_folder/?folder_id=..." have gained popularity, and residents who think they're clever put them in their profiles as jokes, by claiming that this link is leading to something other than avatar appearance changing. Example: "My real life photos: secondlife:///app/wear_folder/?folder_id=97cd6164-1144-fec8-80e5-fd7f6cd3e26f" . It is enough for a resident to be burnt on it once to never click such a link again, but that first and last burn may happen at an inappropriate time... say, a resident who has never seen this link before, at a formal party, browsing profiles, seeing the bait above and falling for it - and the next moment, his formal attire changes into a giant rabbit avatar. In my opinion, this almost equates to griefing - messing up with another resident's avatar for personal amusement. What do you people think of it?

Today, I do not watch the in-world TV. I like watching the chats on important topics that concern Second Life, such as the ones Designing Worlds does, or LabChat, or SLB's Meet The Lindens, and I watch them on YouTube or wherever they're published. The aforementioned chats are among my top priority things to watch, for I am quite a Second Life enthusiast. The Second Life machinima, interviews with world makers and similar things... I do watch them whenever I don't have anything better to do, which happens rarely. And again, I do it outside the Grid.

Hello everybody. Not a long time ago I've bought another parcel on the mainland that, of course, increased my land use fee. But I've realised I cannot afford to own the whole parcel, so I've abandoned a part of it. Now I need to decrease the tier, but every time I'm trying to do it, it shows me the following message: The following must be corrected before continuing: We do not have payment information on file for your account. You must add a payment method to your account by updating your billing information before selecting a lease. What is weird, because I've already got my credit card added and I use it all the time for increasing my LindeX credit, and I never had a problem with it. I've tried to delete it and add again, tried to add my PayPal account - nothing helps, the message keeps being showed. What do I do wrong? What am I supposed to do? Thanks in advance!
