it is a manual process which requires the right team members to be online at the right time.

yes and that is where the planning and communicating with team members needed to do this process. You make sure the people required to do this are online at the same time.  we do it all the time with server updates, and if it' happens that you need to be onsite at  2 am .. so be it .. you have a job to do.  Any good company does this!!!   and I'm sure they all can remote in from home also ...

and I agree with you on the random factor, wasn't saying like always having it lets say 8am on a Monday, instead have an hour window on Monday .. so like in your example, first release date they release them sometime within the 8am hour, then the next release day it would be sometime within the 10a hour, always giving you a hour window.

I think it would be cool if LL would release at random times. For example, one day they release at 1PM, the next time at 11 PM, and yet another time they will release at 4:30 AM.

This will make the release time unpredictable, and invalidates the argument that LL favors users in USA time zones.
Alternatively, LL could move the release time up by 2 hours every release day. Monday it'd be at 4pm, Wednesday at 6pm, Friday at 8pm and the next monday at 10pm, etc.

Of course, these two ideas would only work if the release process can be automated, and for as far as I know this is still done manually.

Good idea and this actually makes sense.

This would be an improvement to just releasing them randomly. And with planning and communicating with all "team members" needed to release a region it could be done!!!

It was in Bellisseria Citizens group.

OMG here we go again, announce the release in a group that you only can see if you are in world, And those of us that have to work for a living and don't have the  leisure to sit at home all day in-world get short changed ... AGAIN!!! There has to be a better way!!! (inserts sarcasm .. I'm so glad I've been a premium member since I started SL and can't even get a new home, damn it's great to be treated like this ... climbs off his soapbox)

Plus I don't like where it is on the map

Just curious, what is wrong with it where it's at on the map? Where would like it to be on the map, next to Zindra ? I for one do not have a home there .. yet, but I like to visit the Bellisseria area to sail around and being close to some of the mainland it makes for a nice long sailing adventure. Honestly I think the moles did a great job landscaping the whole Continent so far. Hell of a lot better then to old Linden home area !!!

He'd say put on your big girl panties and deal with it.

Yeah Beth I say that also ... but that has nothing to do with the fact Linden Labs not learning from the first release to make enough for the demand, hence " Poor Planning leads to P!ss Poor Performance"

should they have taken them back until they could have been enough to have one for every premium member?

Maybe not taken them back ... but maybe limit one per primary account. Or some other system to make sure that each premium member has one home/houseboat before you let all these alts grab them all up!!!

hey were stunned that the original batch went in 48 hours

And wouldn't you think they would learn for that .. that the demand for them is high? So let's make enough so everyone has a chance to get them !!! As we use to stay in the Navy... remember the 5 P's ( Poor Planning leads to P!ss Poor Performance )

I just think this is poor management  and not very good customer service.

I totally agree!! Linden Lab needs to come up with a better system that is fair to all members. We all can't sit in front of a computer all day and have our trigger finger ready when they release them. So yes the way they are as Cahtias puts it throwing crumbs to the starving masses is making others frustrated and mad.

  10. Ok, I’m not a resident of Bellisseria … yet!! One day I hope to be. But I do love to explore the new Continent to see all the great builds. And as of recently I love to explore it on the weekends via a Hot Air Balloon. It is so easy going and relaxing and to be a good SL resident I set my altitude to 200 meters so it doesn’t interfere with any one’s privacy or security orbs. But this weekend I have noticed quite a few ppl have their land orbs to either boot you after 13 secs (or less) or for a height limit of over 200 meters. Question …  What are these folks hiding?

It would be nice if Linden Labs would set a limit on these orbs for a more friendly setting. I would suggest as for the height maybe 150 meters and as for the time limit, I would say a minimum no less then 30 secs.

Once the new batch of houseboats actually becomes available, I have no doubt there will be a lot more houses being abandoned. Right now it is must one here and one there, but when the houseboats release, I think it will be different.

I think you may be right LittleMe Jewell ... but the million dollar question is when will they be released?
