Could I just ask one more question. I have the new Second Life viewer. I have come across instructions on some objects for sale (such as poseballs) asking you to turn off or disable your AO before you can use this or that object etc. I have looked through the standard menu but it isn't obvious where it is or whether it goes under a different name. Could you tell me where this Animation Override is on the SL viewer and how I can disable it if I have to??? Thanks for your help both Lindal and Charlotte. I would like to learn how to upload pictures ect into Second Life. I presume I can upload any photo or picture from my computer or desktop into Second Life. I have the latest version of Second Life, and I can find no File button on the SL viewer that might enable me to upload anything. I need to know what the very first steps are in uploading anything . Also where the File button might be located. It is nowhere at the top of my screen. I know I have more than one question, but I wonder if anyone can give me some info on what the first steps are. From a total beginner. Fidelity.

I have recently uploaded the new Second Life viewer. Everything was working fine but when I last logged in my avatar is a ghost. Just don;'t know how to bring my avatar back. I've tried logging out and turning off, removing attachments and clothes but nothing works. I am not a technical person and am still learning Second Life. Has anyone got any suggestions about how to get rid of this ghost avatar? Would appreciate any ideas. Thanks. Fidelity.

Thanks. It seemed to sort itself out in the end, so maybe the region was having troubles.

My avatar is frozen and at the top of the screen it just says 'Unknown' or unknown place. The graphics are all black and white and not properly loaded. I have tried logging out repeatedly and even re-booting but still can't release the frozen state. The region might be experiencing difficulties but I haven't seen this before. I keep getting the message 'Your alert called "TeleportedHomeByObjectOnParcel" was not found in notifications.xml. Also other messages such as 'Could not teleport. The system was unable to complete your teleport request.' I'll try to leave this frozen area again but nothing is moving. Regards, Fidelity Quintessa

Hello I am still having problems accessing some property I rented two days ago. I was sent a 'password' to type into the chat box, in order to open the door. My group tag is active as I have checked that and I sent notecards to the owners. So far I have not received a reply and they are offline at the moment. The instructions on the notecard were as follows; 'Type your new password in the chat box NEAR the front door of the property and then you can enter'. How near to the door do I need to be when I type this password in to the chat box? (I presume the chat box they are referring to is the large one at the bottom of the screen)? What do I do after that? Do I press some other button, press 'return' or simply wait for the door to open? I have tried both these things and it still does not work. I have a fairly old version of Second Life and it probably needs updating, so could that be a problem? Also my prim count is not displaying above the payment box. As so many people are renting and must know how to do this, could anyone talk me through the process as I am actually doing it? Should I get on to techinical support? The name of the Sim is .'Piazza del Mare.' As it is two days since I rented, I would be very grateful for any assistance or advice> Thanks, Fidelity Quintessa.

Yesterday I rented a property for a week and was given a password on a notecard which I was meant to use to open the front door of the property. Having followed the instructions given on the card I tried typing in the password in the chat bar but nothing happened and the door would not open. I tried using the 'touch' button but that would not work either. Also my prim count is not displayed above the rental box, which it should be. I am waiting for a reply to the problem but thought I would get some feedback on here if possible. Has anyone else had this problem when renting for the first time, and if so, how was it resolved? Could it be something I am doing wrong? Appreciate any advice given. Fidelity.

Hi there, I would like to know how to post an IM in someone's mail box. I am inworld and would appreciate some help. There is no other avatar around and I am in their office. This probably seems like a daft question but I am new to using SL and I haven't communicated by mail before when inworld.

If you rent a house or land from someone, is it still possible to build on it or to furnish it in your own way?

Some inworld games like Bletaverse and Earn-to-Life require the player to type in a region's email address while SL is up on their screen. I am not sure where you type it. I have tried typing it in the top right-hand corner of the screen, and at the bottom in the chat bar but it doesn't work. So I just wondered where you type a region's address. Although I can teleport to any region, it is useful to know how to use a region's address when inworld. Would appreciate some advice. Thank you.

Thank you Shadow... Just would like to ask one other question. I am not versed in Second Life as you've probably guessed. Do you mean by 'objects,' things like furniture, or stuff like that? I recently rented a room for a week at a sim and thought the rental would automatically expire once my rental ran out.  Instead it has carried on and I am now in arrears with my payment.  As I don't know how to cancel the rent of this sim, should I e mail the landowner.  If not can anyone let me know how I can cancel this payment??
