Joust With The Lindens Thursday, October 1 12 - 3pm slt Supporting Making Strides Against Breast Cancer An afternoon of merriment and competition as the Constantine, Derrick and Guy Linden take on each other and all challengers in a most unusual joust! Who shall reign as Joust Champion in this epic one of battle? Vote who will win each Joust by donation to the kiosk in front of the their picture. There are free jousting huds and mounts available. Stage Hosts Needed We are currently looking for enthusiastic individuals to fill volunteer positions as stage hosts at our Minstrel’s Corner entertainment venue at the SL Renaissance Festival in support of the American Cancer Society Strides Campaigns in SL. We are looking for outgoing, friendly, vocal individuals who will Interact with your guests at the event Encourages donations from your guests Encouraging participation amongst your guests Keeping things upbeat Greet your guests as they arrive Wish your guests well when they leave Yes, we said YOUR guests. You are the host of the party and those in attendance are your guests. Have fun with them! Our stage is open daily 11am – 9pm slt. The SL Renaissance Festival runs September 25 – October 4, 2020. Shifts are usually done in a 2 – 3 hour block. You are welcome to do as many blocks as you like, but we prefer no more than 2 in a row to give yourself a break. If you have experience with Making Strides Against Breast Cancer that is an added bonus, but not necessary. We will provide you with the information to provide to your guests and have a host training session. (yes, hosting for a charity event is different than a regular club) Form is located here

Enjoy our story telling in the Gypsy camp in a specially reserved area Be greeted by wandering Minstrel’s and Bards through out the day Reserved seating await you at the Kings Court Academy should you wish to take a class or two during your reign. Have your picture displayed as a “Visiting Royal” at our closing Royal Court Gala on Oct 4 Receive a keepsake copy of our Tales Of Heroes book which contains inspiring stories from all our Kings and Queens, and our Tales Of Heroes contestants stories. Have your SL Avatar picture and your Breast Cancer story shared in our Renaissance newspaper. As a breast cancer survivor or caregiver, you are an inspiration to others even if you don’t know it. We want you to inspire others who visit the Renaissance Festival. We are looking for Breast Cancer Survivors and Caregivers or RL Supporters of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer to share their stories with us and decorate a booth at the SL Renaissance Festival. We want you to inspire others who visit your booth. If seeing your booth display or reading your story saves one life then you have accomplished more than you will ever know. Some ideas for sharing your story or decorating your booth: “What Is Your Your Breast Cancer Story As A Survivor or Caregiver” “What Making Strides Against Breast Cancer & The American Cancer Society Means To You” “How Has MSABC or the ACS Supported Or Helped You Or A Loved One” (in RL and / or SL) “How Has Supporting Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Benefited Your Life”. Your SL photo and your story (notecard) will be displayed at your Tales Of Heroes booth As part of the Tales Of Heroes, we are also putting together a special book of all the participants stories and also sharing stories in our Renaissance "newspaper". The book will be published in SL and given to you at the end of the festival as a keepsake. The "newspaper" will be published on our webpage and available in world. The stories will change daily. As part of the Booth Decoration Contest, you will have 100 LI to decorate your both to represent your story or what MSABC means to you. A SL Renaissance Festival Kiosk will be beside your booth. New documents have been discovered! The Lindens, with Captain Patch at the helm, have loaded the Second Life merchant ship with cargo! First Mates Derrick and Constantine had been seen scurrying about the wharves in recent days with many lists in hand. Their keen eyes checking each item as it was brought on board. Rumour amongst docksmen is the crew has a Mole or two on board. The cargo is hidden in the ships hold. Well wrapped and tied tightly. The Second Life vessel pushed off from the dock and steered towards the open sea but as she did a pouch full of papers was found by the ramp. Curiosity got the best of crowd and before delivering the papers to the Festival Queen, the map was shown to all!. The destination of the great sailing ship was now known! She was sailing to the SL Renaissance Festival with an arrival date of September 25, 2020. The remaining papers were quickly rushed to the Festival Queen. What treasures are onboard have yet to be discovered. Once again Linden Lab is teaming up with the Relay Rockers to support the Relay For Life of Second Life and ‘putting their hair on the line’ to help the American Cancer Society Save Lives, Celebrate Lives, and Lead The Fight For a World Without Cancer. Four teams of Lindens have accepted the challenge to see who can raise the most donations and win the right to shave the heads of the members of the team with the lowest kiosk total.* The team that is ‘Bid Bald’ will be without hair until Relay Weekend, June 6 & 7.
