@ katarina Sonnerstein: I don't buy it. A serious service provider (like Lindenlab) won't change provider over night. And furthermore, they have a few huge transit uplinks (like e.g. level3). If it was as that person told you, it would mean a huge set of servers would be uplink less (or even powerless), that would be the weirdest thing to do, migrating location, in one go, and forgetting many cabinets full of machines. I simply don't buy it. Infact i'm sure they have their own suite, inside a DC. With their own peers and transits, nothing more: becoming their own full providers, with their own AS etc. Switching provider (as in removing a peer/transit connection, or exchanging one) wouldn't have much impact (since they have redundant connectivity).

to the people being angry: calm down folks. I understand you are all annoyed by this. However, take in mind that many big services on the net, have lots of outages/problems too. (e.g. Amazon cloud services, Hotmail, reddit, even google) Although one thing i do agree on: LindenLab should inform us right away, not after 10 or more minutes. Also there should be an automatic system, that prevents residents to make transactions, rezzing no copy objects and the like. (they can build that in quite easily, by using thresholds that are triggered, and once they do, they disable certain "modules" full automaticaly).

most people i come across are between 20 and 55 Simply put, i don't see the "generations" that clearly. It too mixed, to clearly identify them.

another option is DX Exchange I've used to use them for several years. Quite good L$/USD ratio. They have inworld support aswel.
