Including textures to Collada files

ok, I managed to make a mesh and was able to upload it to SL.Then I  made an UV map, exported it to Photoshop, re-imported it and in Blender it looks really nice :)

 

Unfortunately, if now I try to upload the Collada-file to SL, the SL-importer complains: "The texture is empty"???

Anybody knows, what I'm missing?

I don't know, but you don't have to upload the texture with the mesh. You can upload it separately and then apply it to the mesh exactly as you would with a normal prim, either by dropping it on the mesh or by selexting it in the edit dialog (after selecting the right face if there's more than one). There is no extra cost in uploading the texture separately.
