I have a problem , i have follow Gaias tuturial about modelling with outlines all goes well to the end  when she say  S.S-Shifty-0 and when i read the text it says S. S-shift Z-0   have treid both but  cant get it to work, So i wonder if  any one can help me and tell me how i must do

ouch! i see the inconsistentcy :(

ok, it should be "s SHIFT z 0"  and so:

 

  1. Press "s" (for "Scale")
  2. Press and hold SHIFT
  3. Press "z" (scale all except z)
  4. Press "0"  (scale down to zero)

 

What it does:

This shortcut collapses the selected vertices into the same location, but because of "SHIFT z" the z-component of the vertices remains untouched. Hence this collapses all selected vertices on the same location in x/y.

For the tutorial i do it only to get the starting point and the end point of the outline on the same x/y location and thus the following rotation will not create a hole at the top or bottom.
