when placing my furniture, how do i get it to stay in the place in which i put it?

Hello mustyrat and welcome to SL Forums. Assuming that you are at your own place, your furniture will stay in the place where you put it except if you give the permission to other residents to move it. (right click --> edit --> general tab --> Anyone "Move"). If you want to be more sure, right click again --> edit --> Object tab --> Locked. This way the arrows will be disappeared and even you can move it. Just remember if you want to move again to Unlock it. That's all.
