downloaded upload now i cant get on s/l it starts and then shuts off,

i just did the newest douwnload from 2nd life it was forced install. by linden, now my laptop will login , get to the loading ,and inworld, program shuts off, i tried restarting same thing 5 times, i now downloaded ver 3.0 , i got on, but now i got the notification, new update, im afraid to restart the program

Hello Jim6477 and welcome to SL Forums. Anyone "forced" you to install the new version. You had in your preferences the option "Software updates: Install automatically". If you have problems with the new version download again the previous one and set your software updates no to be installed automatically (Preferences --> Setup --> Hardware). You can find the previous version at the following link:

If the problem remains, try a Third-Party viewer:
