There are a few brillian tutorials you can follow along with on Youtube. Some of them are helpful to see the way people shade clothes, but this one is definitely my favourite (this is just part 1), since she talks a lot about the importance of seams, and how to avoid them. Hopefully this will help you get a good start!

Hello Brooklynboy, 

I have been selling and making clothing in SL for about 2 years now, Its is extremely hard to make it with all the wonderful choices you have for outlets these days.  I would suggest you check the SL Marketplace for great templates to use, You will want to get the ones that include PSD's these are the layers you will load in to Photoshop to modify and create new styles with the templates, I found that some of the best templates out there are from Unlikely and LMC, both are a bit pricey but the quaility is awesome.  I use GIMP so i cant help you with any Photoshop questions, but hopefully you will check out the Market and find some good templates that you like.....
