Group owner with event-hosting privilege cannot host events

I was added to a group as an owner about two weeks ago. As an owner, my group profile says I have the ability to "host events on group land" (i.e., that ability is activated in the Parcel Powers submenu). However, when I go to post an event, the parcel does not show up on the list. Only general locations (G) show up - these seem to be owned by Linden Labs. The original group owners do not have this problem - they can post/host events on the parcel. Please help!! Thank you!

Hello Dhann2 and welcome to SL Forums. Estate owners are allowed to post events on their estate by default if the estate is visible. If an estate owner would like other Residents to have the same ability, simply he have to add them to his Allowed list in the Estate tab of the Region/Estate window.
