Making a chair

Hey :) I'm new to SL and have already 'indulged' in texturing, meshing and building. However I would now like to move onto practical furniture. I would like to make a chair.

The thing is I have no clue about animations and how they work, and searching for 'chair scripts' just confused me with the technical lingo. I know how to put a script into an object, but that's about it.

Would anyone be able to shed some light on the situation please? Thanks in advance. :3

What you most likely wana do is play an animation as soon as a person sits down on the chair. You would need the following ingredients for that

• an object to sit down on
• an animation to be played by the ava sitting down on the object
• an script including the following aspects:
  - a sit target that defines how the ava is positioned and rotated on the object - look up llSitTarget
  - get the permission to play an animation as soon as an ava sits down - look at getting perissions,  reacting to changes and finally detecting that permissions have been granted
  - play an animation
  - stopping an animation

IIf you have all there ingredients, you mix them well and you'll get something like this

I have just sent you inworld, a sit target helper box that will give you what you need.  Full instuctions for use are included.

You can then look at how the scripts and fuctions work together in the script and modify if needed.
