how do i get a job in second life and earn money?

If you are less than 30 days old search Money Tree- Lindens hang from the branches and newborns can pick it.

Search Camping, there are a few spots still inworld that will pay you to sit or just hang around an area

Neither of the above will pay much, but will put a few lindens in your pocket while looking for a job

You can find job postings in the help wanted section of the forums: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Inworld-Employment/bd-p/InworldEmployment . Also inworld you will find jobs posted in the classifieds. Since you are new to SL, you might look for the kinds of SL businesses where your RL skills are a match to provide proof of experience

Like in RL networking is often the best way to get a job.  Let friends know you are looking and talk to business owners you meet

You can enter contests that give linden as a prize.  You will find these posted in Events in search

Take classes on building, scripting etc and make items to sell on the marketplace.  If you find certain things sell well you could consider opening a inworld shop.
