I'm on a Mac and the "File" menu doesn't want to open, how do I fix it?

I have a Mac and I can't get the File menu to open but everything else works?  Has anyone else experienced this problem and does anyone know how to fix this?  Thanks so much in advance!

Assuming you are using Viewer 2.6.3, you must activate the advanced mode.

If that doesn`t work for  you, you can go back to the previous version of the viewer here http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Supported_Viewers make sure you also switch off automatic updates in your preferences or it will just update you again.

The Mac menu bar does nothing, I think, when the viewer is open. I never used it myself, and I don't even know if it is supposed to have any menu items in it. When you use the viewer, you have to use the menu provided inside the viewer window (If you are in Basic mode, do what Valerie says and you will see the menu.)
