why does my character appears as a white egg shape and does not load?

It appears as an egg shape because your graphics are set to low otherwise you would show as a cloud. Anyhow try clearing your cache and relog. You should also try to change skin, shape, clothes (the freebies from the library will work) allow them to load then you can switch back to your prefered shape, skin. etc.

The problem with this is that it does not fix OP's problem. This option only makes any unloaded avatars to render as an avatar instead of a cloud. If the avatar in question is still unable to load properly they will show as "Ruth". Some TPV's have actually reworded this option to make more sense. Dolphin says something along the lines as "show unloaded avatars".

Oh OP is referring to a cloud. However the solution above does not fix the problem of being unable to fully load, it simply gets rid of the cloud by force rendering an avatar, most often it will be a "Ruth" avatar or if your shape loads it will be your shape with a missing skin, you will be either grey or you will show up as a naked Ruth skin.
