what do you do when you are ripped off on a purchase and do not receive the item?

I purchased an Item from Izolde store on the marketplace for 500L i received an empty box with nothing but a landmark. how do I report this seller for fraud or force her to give me my item?

FIrst you have to realize sometimes people make mistakes and forget to put the product in the box.  So assume that is the case to start with and send a polite note to the merchant and explain what happened and ask for them to send the product to you.  Give them some time to respond.  Merchants are RL people too and have RL issues, such as getting sick or having other RL emergencies that prevent them from logging in.  Since it's the holiday's they maybe traveling and not able to get into SL.  

If you don't hear anything back in a few days, try again.  Chances are you'll get your product. If after a week, and you still don't hear anything just move on.

There are a very few sellers on MP that will sell an empty box, but there are a few. You can flag the listing under not as advertised to have it removed.  You can file an AR too, but it's not going to force the seller to give you your merchandise or refund your money.  Under the SL TOS it's buyer beware and chances are LL will not do anything.
