my SL viewer keeps shutting down using my new OS X EL Capitan

version 10.11.5

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, late 2015

Processor 3.3 Ghz intel Core i5

Memory 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3

Graphic AMD Radeon R9 M395 2048 MB

All that hardware makes fo a great Second Life Client Platform. However, this being a Mac....insufficient GPU cooling capacity is probably keeping you from enjoying the maximum experience that it is all capable of on paper.

Fix:  Me / Preferences / [set the performance slider to Mid]

If your SL session becomes stable after this then

1) Cry for the $$ spent by you on a Apple Product not designed to remove debilitating heat.

2) Yell at the Apple Company for this institutional oversight. [They have been doing this for years...]

Great hardware without equally great cooling is a waste of money.
