Why Cant I buy in the market?

As long as you have a positive $Linden balance and your account is in good standing with Linden Lab [Not on Hold or otherwise restricted] you will be able to shop and purchase goods on the MarketPlace and in-World at Merchant locations.

Whet error messages are you seeing?

EDIT: BTW You are logging onto the MarketPlace yes?
