"Display Driver has stopped responding and has recovered" - Windows 10

Hey all,

This has only become a recent problem for me and I've been searching for days as to how to solve this.

So about...a week or two ago. This problem started happening; SL freezes and the little pop-up will appear

"Display Driver has stopped responsing and has recovered - Intel(R) HD Graphics Driver 4600"

From what I know, this only happens if your graphics card/driver can't support what is being played. (Mind you I'm not the best at computers but I know the basics and a few bits). The laptop I'm currently using SL on can play games like World of Warcraft and Star Wars the Old Republic quite easily without this happening. This error only happens on SL. Sometimes it wont happen to hours, but thats only if I only have SL and Skype up, anything else up like say Chrome or Spotify and it will crash within....30 minutes. I'll post a list of my spec and so on and try and be as helpful as possible. But I'm completely in the dark here guys.

Laptop Make: Toshiba Satelite P50t-A-125

OS: Windows 10.0.10586 Home Build

System Type: x64

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz, 2401 Mhz

Display: NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M

You have a Dual Graphics Processor laptop. The fix is to edit the SL Viewer shortcut and look for the Properties Extension that allows you to specify which Graphics mode to use. Pick the nVidia graphics system for SL.

The Laptop cones with a on-board tutorial on how to do this as well. You'll find it in the Toshiba folder somewhere under the Apps.

If you forced updated this laptop to Windows 10 from the originally as shipped with OS then get on the Toshiba website and locate, download and install all the corresponding Windows 10 versions of the Toshiba Drivers.

But the nVidia has better 3D capability.

Alwo you might want to locate and download the latest drivers direct from the Graphics Card manufacturer. If the install procedure does not include an uninstall step, manually uninstall your graphics card drivers [including GC Audio Support Drivers] and install the newly downloaded drivers.
