Creating Tattoos for tiny mesh bodies

Hi, everybody!
A customer recently asked me about tattoos for fairies. I haven't found any threads here about this issue. So, if you have a link to a thread that already exists here, I will be thankful!
Is there a way to create tattoos for tiny bodies, such as pixels and fairies? I work with photoshop CS6 Extended using the 3D layers to create tattoos. If it's possible, can I use the same models or do I need a tiny one?

In theory it ought to be possible *if* there is an applier for the body your customer uses but I really have no idea beyond that.
