So... how do I list the threads with recent replies first?

Like the title says. Someone suggested that this was possible, but I can't find the setting anywhere. I don't want to search through three pages of Off Topic threads (and soon 4 or more pages) looking for new replies.

While browsing each forum individually, at the top there is a "Board Options" of which you can choose to "Sort by Last Post Date" which looks like it also takes the timestamp into account so it's reverse chronological based on the reply date/time.

Does anybody if its possible to apply this to the main forum display page of all the threads and topics? It works fine on a forum by forum basis, but I'd like to sort the whole list by most recent post.

preferences linear layout and topc layout... make sure both are set to "oldest first" and save

Because top-posting is bloody awkward to read

But everyone complained about that

If you go there they used to be sorted 'newest first'

And remember the posts within threads are sorted differently in Answers

Which makes it almost impossible to follow

So now they're sorted by 'most kudos'

Because new posts can be inserted anywhere

Which effectively means they're random
