How do I stop IM windows from closing?

As per the thread title, really. When I started using Viewer 2.0 one of the things I *really* didn't like was the IM window closing as soon as you clicked anywhere outside of it; most annoying if you were switching between that and local chat...then it somehow fixed itself...great!

Well, now it's started again. Not sure if it's because of something I did or not. Has anyone else had this problem and solved it? Is there something I want to be ticking somewhere, etc?

Why is it you find the answers to these questions right after you post them? You move the window from its default position then it stays open.
