Avatar names when you mouse hover and map issues

When i hover my mouse over someone it does not show their name like it used to.  Also, on my large map, it does not show # of people on sim when i hover my mouse over it.  I don't know anyone else with these issues.  Can someone point me to where I may have screwed up a setting? And yes, I use Emerald, but if I recall, it does it on the SL standard viewer and the RC candidate as well.

That'd be "Hover Tips".

View > Hover Tips > Show Tips, or ctrl + shift + T.

Very, very easy to disable that by accident.

I have the same issue (no mouseover text on maps) but its in my case not related to the "View > Hover Tips > Show Tips, or ctrl + shift + T." setting.

I have enabled the setting and not getting the hover text anyways, I am getting the hover tips for all other sorts of things like when i mouseover on vendors in world and such but not on the map. I had this issue sometimes before and it would sometimes be fixed just by a simple client restart, but now its simply not working on the maps anymore for the last 2 days already, is there some other way i could have messed this up or to fix this?
