Show incoming IM's in 'Local Chat' Tab?

Older versions of the viewer used to show incoming IM's in the local chat tab of the communicate window as dimmed/darkened text, this feature was nice in that it allowed you to actively monitor group chat or ongoing IM"s without having to switch tabs back and forth constantly in order to see what was said in the other windows, instead it would show up inline with the local chat albeit 'dimmed down' so that you would know it was from an IM window (I know it's possible to 'tear off' chat windows and have them on various parts of the screen but then that covers what's on the screen in those locations.  I'd like to know if it is possible to reenable the inline display of IM's in the local chat communicate window. If so how would I go about doing it?  If not can someone tell me why the option to do so does not exist, I mean I can't be the only person that appreciates this functionality, can I?

Hi!

Enable 'Advanced' menu if not yet (CTRL-ALT-D). Go to > Advanced > Debug Settings.

Look for the debug value named 'IMInChatHistory' and select 'TRUE'. Ta-da!

you can also use the 'official' menus: Preferences (Ctrl-P), Communication Tab, Section IM Options. (Include IM in Local Chat - Includes the text of IMs in your chat history)

Thanks to both of you for replying,  I had it checked in my preferences menu but it wasn't working until I checked it in the 'Debug' console, not sure why, but it's working now at least

I do not see the "IMInChatHistory" in my debug settings.
