What happened to my friends and groups list? They've vanished from my conversation window.

I logged in to a normal conversation window, that included tabs for friends and groups. Then, suddenly, they were gone. I can't figure out what I did to remove them, or how to get them back. I've tried looking through my other tabs, for a solution, but can't seem to find it. Can anyone help? (BTW relogging didn't seem to help me)
