Several group chats not working after unscheduled maintenance 1/2/2014

I am finding that several group chats are no longer functional after yesterdays unscheduled maintenances .  Notices are going out as normal , but no one is able to post in the chat group. 

 I checked and rechecked all settings and everyone should be able to chat at will in the group . I have also learned that our group is not the only one with this problem .

We have a large group and at first I wondered if it wa s all large groups , but I se e that there are groups with many more members than ours who seem to be unaffected by this problem , so I t does not seem to an issue with group size . 

Does anyone ahve any insight into what can be causing this problem?? Our group is a business oriented groups and we depend heavily on the ability of members to use the group fo rsupport

The group chat does not work for ours either.

I am seeing some very odd phenomena in group IM. 

Primarily much worse (if you consider that possible) chat lag on larger groups.

Difficulty in getting closed chats to stay closed as a result of above.

Sudden large "dollops" of group chat, say 5 or 6 individual chats arriving at once.

None of these phenomena are typical of the ubiquitous group chat lag. 

Looks like in attempting a fix to the Asset Servers, the tech broke some other Grid-Wide function.
