I don't receive all group notices as a group member, though in the group menu it's set enabled.

Question

I'm a member of several active groups but I discovered that I receive only about the half of the group notices, even from the same group. How is it possible that all my groups I'm a member in are set to "receive group notices from this group", but some of them I receive, some of them I don't. When I log in and check the Groups window / Notices section, I regularly discover several notices sent out, but never receiving them neither through my e-amil address, nor as an inworld pop-up.

Update: the answer is not a solution to my question. Still I have to manually check all my groups' "Notices" section inworld, and I always find some notices among them that I haven't received through my e-mail while I was offline. I don't reach the 25-messages only limit, I login almost daily, so my IMs and group notices are so few that they cannot be capped.

You are tripping over the Message Cap.

Instant Messaging

The chat window that allows two Residents to have a private conversation with each other.

Opposed to open chat, which is limited to a distance of 20 meter, instant messages (often abbrivated as IMs) reach grid wide. The length of an IM is limited to 1023 bytes/single-byte characters.

When a Resident is offline, up to 25 messages will be stored and delivered at the next login. This limit includes inventory offers, group notices, group invitation and IMs. All messages above this limit will be capped and not delivered.

However, there is an IM to Email feature, which sends offline messages directly to the mailbox connected to your account. To activate it, go to Edit > Preferences (or press Ctrl-P), go to the Communication tab and check the Send IM to Email checkbox. Press Apply and close the window with OK.

When an offline message is received via Email, this message can also be answered via Email again. These mails will be converted back to IM and sent to the right Resident. Note that the Email to IM feature expires 5 days after the receival of the IM. Messages sent afterwards won't be received anymore. Also note that the length of properly delivered Email replies is limited to 1023 bytes/single-byte characters. Messages exceeding this limited will be truncated to fit the limit.

Note that, due to SVC-1144[c], replies to offline emails currently can't contain special unicode characters.

Also note that offline IMs are only retained for 31 days and discarded afterwards. For example, if someone sends you an Instant Message and the next time you login is 33 days later, you won't receive it.
