when someone use a tagger to place a tag above my head, is it possible to know who did it?

or to remove it myself?

what do you mean ?

what tag are you talking about ? the one that is just above your name ?

its a group tag. noone put it here but it cames with the group you have as activated in your group list.

to remove it, just go in your group list and clik at the first line at the top (should be something like "none", i dont rem, im not online for now, but its the very first line in the list) then clik the button "activate" and you wont wear any group tag then .

In case you mean those scripted griefing taggers / taggs: 

You can try to drag a selection border around yourself (make sure its a big radius) in order to catch the item that is following you and 'tagging' you. mostly they are made really tiny and transparent so it wont be easy to catch them.

If its a bigger prim follower just simply rightlick it.

in both cases - once it's selected you can simply look in the editwindow under 'owner', this will tell you who rezzed this item.

Also pressing CTRL+ALT+T can help to show transparent objects (if they aren't too tiny to visually recognize them)

 

The Firestorm Viewer also has a show nearby objects function. Which might give you a hint which object it is - depending on their namings.

If you have parcel / region rights you can  return the item via rightclick > manage > return or via the About > Land menu.
If not its best to ask the Region or parcelowner and tell them the name of the object to return or even the name of the owner in oder to remove all his/her objects and possibly even bann the person from this area.

In all other cases it's most likely just a groupname, and can be disabled by leaving the group, setting another group to active, or have no groups being displayed.

If someone offered you a group invite, you automatically wear the group tag above your head. If the "tagger" is a bot or a group inviter in a shop, or if it was someone you met in a club, for example, you should have noticed what or who gave it to you since you have accepted it. Unless you had a conversation with that person (which you can find in your IMs and chat logs), there is no record to know who gave you the tag.

And yes, you can remove it yourself: go the "people" tab at the bottom of your screen, click on "my groups" tab, choose "none" or any other group you like best and right click "activate". If you choose "none", there will be no more tag floating above your name. :smileyhappy:

it can also be one of these stupid title items that you wear and ask pp in local chat to give you a new tag... so in this case, unwear it, plain and simple.

look into your inventory in "worn items tab", and find smth with "title" in the name.. then unwear it and you wont be bothered anymore
