How can I block a resident that is not near me?

As I recall all you need to do is look in your local chat for the message mouse click on the name of the resident that is at the beginning of the message and select the Settings gear and then the block option.

If it is an object sending the messages, right-mouse click on the name of the object at the beginning of the message and select the Show Object Information then select the block option.
